I'm definitely excited, if only to see Star Wars treated with reverence again. The last time that happened was with Kershner at the helm, and we got arguably the greatest Star Wars movie ever. I feel like Episode 7 is very similar to ESB from a creative standpoint. There are high expectations, a dedicated team, new and returning actors, potentially novel applications of special effects technology old and new, and an understanding that the story must be taken in a new and unexpected direction. This last point is the most exciting for me, that they may give Star Wars another twist that makes it interesting for old and new generations alike.
