A good chance this would kill everyone on the ship? Yup this sounds like a Janeway plan all right. You know she ordered Tom to do it.

When a series of events strands Voyager in a Nebulae, Tom Paris must synthesize a bio-genetic plague and activate a dangerous holographic warrior.

Many years ago, I read an unsold Voyager script that was posted online by the writer that wasn't half bad. It involved the Voyager crew finding the Defiant from the TOS episode The Tholian Web.

IIRC, it didn't sell because of the expense of recreating all the TOS sets. The Defiant did appear later on Enterprise of course.

Star admits to child molestation

Stephen Collins, who played the father and pastor on the family-friendly series, has reportedly been caught on tape admitting he molested three young girls, according to TMZ.

Sick and disturbing if these allegations are true. I'll never be able to look at "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" the same way again.  YUCK!

Too bad it was Illia and not Decker who held the moral code not to take advantage of a sexually immature species.

TMZ is the bottom feeder of celebrity trash though. I really hope it's not true.

Something that happened 40 years ago is going to be hard to investigate either way. There's also the messy divorce angle.

Yeah, Decker probably touched those kids :(

I agree SilverWook. It's way to easy to grab a torch and pitchfork.

We don't know the full circumstances, and may never know.  But one thing is for sure, his estranged spouse has just screwed up his life forever.

News just in:

Stephen Collins dropped from ‘Ted 2,’ resigns from SAG National Board after child molestation confession in audio recordingThe ‘7th Heaven’ star was supposed to appear in the sequel to the Mark Walhberg comedy, but was dropped from the film after news broke that he had admitted to child molestation in an audio recording.

Thejediknighthusezni will be disappointed when he hears this news; a man molesting three girls instead of three boys leaves him no opportunity to go off on yet another one of his anti-homosexual rants.

Wow,well I am sorry but as someone who knows someone who was molested as a child and as seen first hand the damage it does I have never been able to over look it and just enjoy the work after news like this breaks.

Maybe it is shallow of me but I don't think I will ever be able to enjoy STTMP or any of his episodes of It's always Sunny again:(

Sad news.  My heart goes out to the victims.

Here is the thing as someone who has seen the effects of this sort of crime I can tell you that there are two problems with assuming that all charges like this are made up.

First it can be hard to find evidence that will stand up in court, the people who get away with this tend to be good at covering their tracks and doing these things in private so the matter is a reduced to a he said/she said sort of thing.

Two it isn't until recent years that police really started treated these cases as major crimes so in many cases they were not investgated to the extend say a murder would be.

Three unlike a lot of other crimes child molestation leaves a scare on the soul and leaves many children feeling like it was their fault,so they are afraid to come forward. These feelings may not be logical but they are there none the less and must be understood.

I have heard a lot of people who assume that just because it takes years or some times decades for the child to get to the point where they can talk about it to the police or anyone else that the charge must be made up,but that is not how this sort of crime works.  In something like an armed robbery it is clear who the victim and who the crook is so people have no problem talking about that. Sadly most children are abused by someone they looked up to so they feel that it is their fault and that they someone tempted the molester into the actions he or she committed.  Now I am not saying all charges like this are untrue I am just saying that in recent years there seems to be the assumption that all charges of this type are false and that the person being accused is a victim and the accuser is some sort of gold digging monster and I don't think it is ever as simple as that.  i am sure there are cases but I am also sure that some of these charges that get dismissed out of hand are in fact true.  Some crimes are just harder to prove in a court of law then others.

I am not sure what the point of this post was i just thought I should give the view from where I am stand having seen what this type of thing does to a person, that is all.

I concur about not wanting to watch TMP again anytime soon.

What troubles me about all this is, this tape apparently was secretly recorded two years ago. Who had it all this time, and why were they just sitting on it?

Once someone knew, not reporting it in a timely fashion doesn't make sense. Isn't that technically aiding and abetting? Does a doctor/patient confidentiality preclude this as well?

And TMZ doesn't get this sort of thing for free either.

Oh I agree that whoever was holding the tape should be charged too.  Making money off of this sort of thing is just sick and I hope whoever the scumbag is gets the book thrown at them.

I wish this was a real comic:

Provided it wasn't played straight, of course.

Some 15 years ago while I was at high school, our school was named after a (locally) famous writer from the 19th century. Suddenly a Christian organization claimed that the writer died on syphilis, and suddenly all Christian parents started to pull their kids off the school.

I don't know why your comments about TMP reminded me on this

Yeah because molesting children is one of those things where there are no victims and people should just get over it and not be bothered by it.

After all it's not like anyone's life has ever been ruined by being molested as a child.

You are right people just need to get over it and the police should stop wasting time investigating these so called "crimes".

If a man wants to force a child to have sex with him no one has the right to stand in his way,and he shouldn't be judged for acting on the impulse.

On a similar not I really wish woman would stop complaining about being "raped". We all know they wanted it and enjoyed it when it happened so they just need to be told to shut up and stop running to the police after the fact.

I never said something like that.

What I wanted to say is that IF the actor DID it, he belongs to jail, but Star Trek has nothing to do with it.

Child molesters belong to jail, no doubt about that. But I see no reason to "boycott" TMP.

If you are a Walter Koenig fan like I am, you may enjoy seeing him in two episodes of "The Starlost".

I had seen one episode of this show when I was around 7 years old in 1973 or 1974, then it completely vanished. That one episode had a huge impact on me, and for years I tried to find anyone who had seen it, or knew it's name, or anything at all about it.  It was not until a Star Trek convention in the early 90's that I finally did find something. It was a few black and white stills from the show at a dealers table.  I finally had a clue, and at long last conformation that I did not just imagine that the show even existed.  Koenig guest stared on two episodes. It's interesting that he is using a very Chekov sounding accent. I wonder if that was his choice or the producers or directors requested it.

This was grass roots classic weekly science fiction drama at it cheesiest. This show is the vital missing link between "Star Trek" and "Space 1999", and it had some of science fiction's biggest names attached to it.  Amongst them are Douglas Trumbull and Harlan Ellison (who had jumped ship early in filming, and demanded his name be changed in the shows credits)

Harlan always keeps an escape pod and his pseudonym handy. ;)

What I remember of the show is it was pushing the limits of 1970's video effects. Would be so easy to put actors into miniature sets now.

Here's a Starlost fan page you might find interesting. Hasn't been updated in years though.

Well I never knew that Martin Landau was approached to play Spock before Nimoy.  He says so in this interview.  He also shows that he has no love at all for producer Fred Freiberger. The special's host looks just like Boxy from the original "Battlestar Galactica".

Space:1999 - Martin Landau interview (1999)

Martin Landau is interviewed about Space:1999 for this French program from 1999. While the clips and narration are in French, Mr. Landau's comments are in English.
