DJ, You_Too, & Deathcab…I congratulate you again on your triumphs and encourage you keep up the great work!!!

Thank you so much for that nice little write up vadertyme, we all really appreciate it very, very much, but I have to add 1 person here, do not forget about our "Menu Guy" without him we would not have all these fancy menu's with great extras, so a huge thanks to him as well when he reads this.

So thank you again for all your support and help.

I think I may have misinterpreted Deathcabs post when he reviewed Maximum Overdrive and thought he was pulling double duty.  I definitely don't want to leave anyone out lol...so a special congratulations to "The Menu Guy", the movie clips on the main menu were a nice touch and really speaks to how much Team Blus projects continue to evolve in excellent ways.

No worries, Deathcab does help with menus as well, but Menu Guy puts all together and makes it work, there are 4 of us.

My apologies. I didnt mean to take anything away from our menu guy. He is an integral part of TeamBlu. I just help out with ideas, etc for menus and he is the one, like DJ said, that puts it all together and makes them flawless and beautiful.

I received my package last week which included Maximum Overdrive, Private School, The Wild Life and Nurse 2D Uncensored and I wanted to start off by offering a sincere thank you again to DJ and the rest of Team Blu for once again putting together several outstanding projects.

After testing out all of the discs from a functionality standpoint, I am happy report (again) that i haven't encountered any issues to speak off on any of these discs.  Everything functions as it should and I am truly appreciative of the time and effort spent on the QA/QC of not just these but  all of Team Blu projects.  I think what truly separates Team Blus projects from other blu-ray projects I’ve come across is this QA/QC aspect.  I bring this up because the only projects that I have of Team Blu that I didn’t get directly from them were Sheena and The White Buffalo (BTW these are another 2 excellent projects worth getting when they are available) which were obtained from the ‘spleen and took me 20 hrs. each to download…I know, I know I have a crappy internet connection.  Anyway, after downloading and burning them to a BD, they both behaved as they should (i.e. perfectly) right out of the burner.  I mention this because I have downloaded several other projects from others which took the same amount of time to download and the results were mixed at best and I later was able to confirm that other people had the same issues with these projects that I did.  With Team Blu, you never have to worry about that…so download these with confidence.

In closing , I get the vibe sometimes that the team wishes that it could work faster and are frustrated that they don't but for me when you look at the level of care put into the transfers, bonus materials, elaborate menus, artwork (both inside and out) and disc art, the TLC put into these is very apparent and I say take as long as you guys need as the results are well worth it.  Fellow OT member vbangle, hit it right on the head when he said that there is no difference anymore between commercial retail product and Team Blu's because truthfully there isn't.  Actually, I might venture a step further and say that Team Blus projects are superior to the vast majority of what’s being commercially released that we all lay down are hard earned money for.  For instance, take this Maximum Overdrive project, which included lobby/post cards and a poster…totally unexpected and incredible:)  I mean it when I say that I’m eagerly anticipating Team Blu's releases more than 95% of what’s coming to retail in the near future. DJ, You_Too, & Deathcab…I congratulate you again on your triumphs and encourage you keep up the great work!!!

Note: I will update this post with some photos of these items when I get a chance this weekend.

Excellent Write up!  I'm Jealous of the fact that you've seemed to found a way of acquiring these excellent releases!  The 2 I've obtained were incredible so I have no doubt that these new projects are great as well.

Thank you.

Speaking of Salem's Lot did anyone happen to catch Encore's two part broadcast of the original Salem's Lot? Was that the complete minisereies?

Hey, dark_jedi! I have some terrible news to say. It appears that the newly released 30th anniversary blu-ray of The Neverending Story uses the same exact transfer as the previous US blu-ray.

Here is a post Croweyes1121 sent on the blu-ray.com forums:

"Honestly, this was the *last* scenario I expected. I'll be damned if this isn't the exact same transfer as the previous US blu-ray. I've checked the color timing against several screenshots from this site, and they look identical. Same very dark push, same crush, same oppressive orange hues over the initial flight to the Ivory Tower. Grain structure is definitely there - so this is NOT the German Extended transfer by any stretch. But what's there is murky, just as it tends to be on early blu-rays - just as it was on the previous blu-ray. I got the same overall impressions of this as I did of that release. This is...terribly, terribly disappointing as far as I'm concerned. This being marketed as a remaster is a total and complete lie IMO. It seems to me that they simply took the 2012 restoration featurette and slapped it on the old presentation with some new extras. I'm REALLY sorry to report this, folks. I'd post screens if I had the means. I can take a few with my phone if it's needed, but take my word...the grain structure and opening scenes at the Ivory Tower are a dead giveaway (the contrast boosting and dark push are so heavy there that you can barely make out the man talking to Atreyu). It's the old transfer."

Are you still doing the Neverending Story International and Extended Versions project now that WB did it wrong again?

Damn!!!

Help us, Team Blu! You're our only hope.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

OK so now that T1 is done I need a little input on T2, what would you all like to see as audio options here? I have had a couple people listen to the PCM from this LD provided from Buster D,

http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/39707/PILF-0001/Terminator-2:-Judgment-Day-%281991%29

and it seems it really does not sound real good(not the rippers fault) and really adds nothing to what we have already, so we may ditch it, this is what we have right now ready to go,

Dolby Digital 2.0
Dolby TruHD 5.1
Dolby Digital CDS 5.1

I am thinking just leaving it to these 3 only, unless there is something out there that really needs to be on BD.

Thanks

Where did the DD 2.0 come from?

Is it the compressed PCM from the LD?

dark_jedi,
How would I be able to get physical copies of these? Do you need a list of the titles I'm interested in? Is it through Private Messaging, Usenet?
Interested in:
Conan the Barbarian (Both)
Night of the Living Dead 1990
Fright Night Part II
Maximum Overdrive

Any assistance as to how to get these through PM or another member would be most helpful! Have a pleasant day.
For The NeverEnding Story. I recommend using the Dutch release since it has the best transfer currently. Unless if TeamBlu will be using the double disc technique.
Is T2 seamless branching?

NOLD90 is on Cinematik atm.

I am looking for FN2 (and Sheena) myself.

TBH A lot of this is covered in the thread.  The best place to look for information is the first and last page of each of the titles you're interested in.  Dark Jedi maintains the index of releases titles in the first post in this topic:

Physical copies are not available.  Some are available from Usenet, some through Torrent sites, some were available but are currently waiting for someone other than Dark Jedi to upload to somewhere other than Myspleen:

Conan the Barbarian (Both)

Currently unavailable

Night of the Living Dead 1990

Uploaded to CinemaTik and somewhere else (?)

Fright Night Part II

Happy85 had uploaded this to Cinemageddon but it's been taken down. Waiting to be re-uploaded.

Maximum Overdrive

This is available on Usenet - from the first post of the thread:

"Search "Maximum Overdrive BD25" @ Nzbclub."

For The NeverEnding Story. I recommend using the Dutch release since it has the best transfer currently. Unless if TeamBlu will be using the double disc technique.

From what Dark Jedi and You_Too have said before, I think they've been working on this for months - one thing about Team Blu is they take they're time and don't rush out releases just to get "Kudos".

Is T2 seamless branching?

Theatrical Cut Only I believe.
