Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness — Page 58

Thing is, does it really need to be a time loop? A practical joker having MANY alarm clocks waking Anakin up before each of his actions, helping him reach that level of madness required to become a true sith. My line of thinking went something like waking up before the council scene, opera scene, Palpy's confession scene, killing Mace scene, attacking Jedi temple scene and finally before going to Mustafar. And that whole massacre could be accompanied by the Polka- growing silent by each person Anakin kills. So when he wakes up after being put in the suit the timing should be something like we hear the different radio voices when we see Palpatines wicked smile while Vader starts heading towards that Noooo.
Had these ideas just stuck in my head so I had to let them out.
What ever you do Frink- I'm looking forward to the end result. Might just take a look at the earlier ones this weekend....and most likely Groundhog Day ;)
Cheers!

I'm not sure I understand how it fits there.

It would be funny to hear the song starting up as the helmet is powered up and lowered on his head, (use that tinny AM radio effect?) implying he's going to be hearing it the rest of his days.

If Bob Garcia ever returns from the edge of the galaxy, maybe he could put a Vader alarm clock next to the bed? ;)

"You've got mail!" coming out of the helmet as it is lowering down, maybe? With an envelope symbol popping up in the red eye windows.

The birth of Robocop tinted orange might be a laugh at that point.

Oh man, the shots where they keep turning him off and on might be great for that.

I had to go watch the youtube clip to remember those scenes, as I've seen Robocop a few times but not in a very long time.

Might that not work better as the birth of Vader?

Hoping someone has an idea here...

I'm attempting to do some vfx work in Studio Platinum 11. It comes with a plugin called "NewBlue MSPPS Image Mapper - OpenFX." I used it to create a shot that looks like this in my preview window:

Unfortunately this is the result when I try to render out to an mp4:

I've had similar lack of luck rendering out as a lagarith avi. I'm pretty sure the NewBlue plugin is the culprit, as it renders fine when I remove the effect...and I've also had problems with some (but not all) of the NewBlue transition effects.

Anyone with any ideas? I'd love to do simple fx like this myself rather than looking for other people to do it for me.

I, for one, love this idea.

Big thanks to the support guy at NewBlue FX who figured out the problem was a graphics card setting.  Onward with the ridiculousness...

So it should be easy for you to put something over the hologram display that Palpatine quickly shuts off every time someone walks into his private office?

Sorry Frink but at that time I couldn't click on the link so I assumed it was following the flow of the conversation which up until that point had been the Vader at Veterinarian's Hospital.

This is my first attempt at some very simple keyframing in order to keep the ESB footage tracking with the camera shot. Does it work?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIoUTL-rKdA

When I opened up the project tonight, the keyframes shifted to the left on the timeline, which made the image move way too fast and then hold in place. No matter how I shift the keyframes and save, every time I open the project they've shifted to the left again. I've spent all night trying all sorts of things to fix it, including tons of google research. It seems as if others have had this problem with Vegas Studio as well, and I have not found a fix. I tried contacting Sony but they don't support Studio 11 anymore so they don't accept emails about it. As a last resort I've tried sending the question to NewBlue, we'll see if they have any ideas. But if not, this looks like a bust.

Now I want to empty my older daughter's college fund just to buy Pro.

But you already output it. Just line it up, output the merged video, and replace that section with the merged file. Sure you can't go back and tweak it later, but its better than not having it.
