Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness — Page 57

I like the lightsaber idea, and it would be easy on the audio end.  But I'd need help with the saber glow on Padme.

I think the first one should come after the second one.

In the first one, I think there should be a slightly longer pause after the crunching sounds with the camera still on Padmé, before the camera switches over to Anakin. As it is now, I would expect to see Anakin still leaning towards his alarm clock and it's slightly jarring to see him in the same position as before.

Hopefully that makes some sense.

Makes sense.  I'll look at it, but the longer the gap, the longer I have to loop Padme and the more obvious it is.

You could cheat it by a cutaway to the exterior of Padme's apartment at night?

Artoo could also be snoozing in the corner again.

Where were you in '77?

Ah, hello! De - lurking just a little bit to say "Well done!" about what's been done so far. And to suggest that- since you're using the Groundhog Day thingie - The Pennsylvania polka  ought to play in the background in a follow up scene...or scenes. Just a thought I got. Back to lurking. Cheers!

 Possibly.

And maybe, though I don't know if I can handle his snoring again. ;-)

 Thanks :-)

I thought about the Polka, but I'm not sure where it would fit best.

I was about to suggest playing it during the next scene, as Anakin runs through the theater to reach Palpatine. That is, until I realized that scene doesn't follow the nightmare scene in the original film, only in my own edit.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Have you nailed down what Palpatine will be watching at the opera yet?

Perhaps something he laughs at inappropriately?

But that's still a great idea!

Not yet, but I'll have to go back and look, there were some great ideas before.

The Batman Forever trapeze act would probably amuse Palpatine (especially when everyone dies).

Preferably more cackling than laughing, followed by strange looks from Anakin.

Here's a rough first attempt at combining the lightsaber and exterior apartment ideas.  I can improve on the audio but I may have to find some help to make the video more convincing.

 Nice job!

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

LOL! I think it works!

Is there any way to put in a couple flashes timed to the lightsaber hits? Also maybe a "thud" as the cleaved clock radio hits the floor?

The glow also needs to be more blue like Ani's saber, or is Youtube screwing up the colors?

Where were you in '77?

Author

It could probably be a bit more blue.

I tried a flash but all I could get was a flash of the main video stream, not the blue glow insert. I'll have to play with some more settings.

I can add the thud.

How far are you going with the Groundhog Day concept? As far as having the end - of- the- loop recording of I got you babe in the suit-up scene?

Well, of all the days to end the loop it HAD to be when you have had your arms and legs cut off and been burned in a volcano. That is if you gonna run the Groundhog Day gambit all through the movie that is...

Will it be implied that his turn to the dark side is because he doesn't care anymore and figures he'll just wake up the same way again, only to find he's broken out of the time loop?

I have an idea that it should happen again in Return of the Ridiculousness, but the idea is a bit too much to explain without technically going off topic in this thread. I'll post the idea there shortly.

There won't be a time loop in ROTR.

Hopefully I've already established his turn is a result of Padme cheating on him.
