Yeah that is why I use local thrift shops when I want to add to my collection of games. I got all of the Super Star Wars games for .50 each. Ebay is a rip off, thrift shops may take time but it can be fun and you will always get a better deal then Ebay.
Plus it gives you something to brag about on LGR's facebook page:)
I collect games too
EDIT: I mostly started because my brother gave me his old collection when he sold his house
I have been collecting all of my life. I never have much money so i have to look for a good deal. I used to use Gamestop and EB Games because when they were competing they would have really good deals and old games as far back as the Atari 2600 and they carried used PC games. Then the companies merged, they got rid of the PC games, jacked up the prices for the used games so that now they only cost $5 less then a new game and most of the time they don't come with a case or instruction book, and got rid of all of the games for non current systems so I stopped using them a while ago. I have found that you can get fairer prices on games at a thrift shop and chances are they have a better selection.
As I said I have been doing this for years and it's a great way to collect older games when you are low on cash. Yes it takes a lot of looking but I have found that is part of the fun. it great to walk into a store look around randomly and find a used game that goes for $50 for a buck at the local thrift store. It feels like finding a lost treasure plus there is no shipping and handling plus in most cases you are helping out a good cause.
My thrifting is one of the reasons this is my favorite thing LGR does.
