Help: looking for... German & Hungarian digital TV-Rips of the original 1999 theatrical version of "TPM" and the original 1997 Special Editions of the Trilogy!

Hallo!

For long time the German TV-channel Pro7 (ProSieben) has broadcasted the original 1999 theatrical version of “The Phantom Menace”, as available on the Widescreen VHS, and the original 1997 Special Edition Trilogy, with better Jabba in “A New Hope” and original Anakin ghost in “Return of the Jedi”. Also all movies where broadcasted in 4:3 Letterbox (original Widescreen as on VHS, only in much better Quality), had the original German theatrical subtitles for the alien languages,  and the old German “Krieg der Sterne” opening crawls for the Trilogy. I think these Versions where broadcasted from the beginning of their availability until 2007 or 2008, after that they changed to the DVD-versions. Now I ask the community if anyone has digital records of these older TV-versions in good Quality (DVB-T, DVB-C or DVB-S). I only have bad VHS-Records of them, but need them in good quality for my collection.

In Hungary all six movies where broadcasted by the channel “RTL Klub” in 4:3 Pan&Scan, with original Hungarian subtitles for the alien languages and the Prequels had the original hungarian written opening crawl as in cinema. I also search this versions as digital records in good quality (DVB-T, DVB-C or DVB-S)

Topic update:

The same versions, which I’m searching from Pro7, where also broadcasted by the Austrian channel ORF1. This Austrian broadcasts would be better, because they have no commercial breaks and the TV-Logo  is on the Black bar and not in Picture. But “The Phantom Menace” is the most important, because its cinema version and its original DD2.0 stereo-mixed German sound. Also on VHS the German subtitles for the alien languages are put on the black bar, on TV they are the same in-picture subtitles as seen in cinemas.

May I piggyback on this and ask for a recording of the German TV broadcast of the non-SE "Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter" (which had its TV-premiere in March of 1990 on Sat.1)? Actually I just need the scenes with Jabba's subtitles, as I need a template for the German DeEd. Or did any of the other German releases have the original optically composed subtitles for the Jabba scenes?

I'm pretty sure all the German subtitles (both in SW and ROTJ) were redone for the SEs...

Regarding the Hungarian versions, you almost certainly will not find these recorded I'm afraid. I've never seen them on hungarian torrent sites. Some DVD versions of the 97SE (known to members of this forum as TB I think) with hungarian audio muxed on them were popular back in the days though.

I have the 1990 Sat1 Versions, wait for my other project:

And yes, I don't mean the original original subtitles, I mean the original 1997 subtitles.

And I need the Hungarian TV-Version because of the 4:3 picture and the hungarian opening crawls from the prequels.

The really original German cinema subtitle are only in that Sat1 broadcast, which was later also shown by Pro7 before the SEs where made. ;)

@Laserschwert

I digitized my old 1990 ROTJ Sat.1 VHS recording a few months ago. I made this well, let's say - amateurish - with one of these cheap 'SCART/Chinch-to-USB-whatever-adapters'. But the result should be adequate to analyse the theatrical timing and placement of the german Jabba subtitles.

@skywalker89

Auf Deutsch unterhalten? Aber gerne doch ;-)

 Hallo!

And I need the Hungarian TV-Version because of the 4:3 picture and the hungarian opening crawls from the prequels.

 The hungarian crawls are included on the BD set with seamless branching, but only for the prequels. For the OT, they are narrated.

 Yes, I know, I have them, but I need the originals with 4:3 Pan&Scan picture, but "The Phantom menace" is the most important, because of it's cinema version and original stereo-mixed DD2.0 sound. I have the 1995 and 1997 hungarian VHS versions and Episode 1&2, only Episode3 and the original Trilogy from 1993 are missing in my hungarian VHS collection, I have the Hungarian DVD from Episode3 and downloads from the Hungarian 1993 Versions, but I prefer original cassettes for my collection. But for the old versions of the Prequels and the Special Edition, digital TV-rips would be the same Version as on VHS, just would have a better quality. If you want, we also can talk Hungarian.

Jabba Subtitle Font Sat.1 VHS

@skywalker89

Ah, the memories .... Watching Krieg Der Sterne on SAT 1 many years before I actually understood German :-)

Somehow I have this distinct memory of one of the Jabba subtitles being too wide for this zoomed-in version, so they had to pan across the frame during the subtitles to make them all readable. Or was that on one of the VHS-releases?

 On Sat1 the Jabba subtitles were equal cut of like the ones from Greedo:

Vielen Dank schonmal!

@Laserschwert

@sykwalker89

Kannst du davon auch was gebrauchen (z.B. Fox & Lauftext Intro + Abspann)?
