Who should the villain(s) of the sequel trilogy be? (if the sequel trilogy has villains) — Page 12

I don't see how he can show up without having to explain why Palpatine said he was dead, especially since it's implied Palpy did the deed.

The theory is that Plagueis either essence transferred or reassembled the atoms that his body is made of.

I like your Shakespeare reference.

If they do use Plagueis, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him regenerative abilities (bequeathed to him by his experiments with midi-chlorians, no doubt) which allowed him to revive from whatever murder attempt Palps gave him.

It would be a very stupid retcon, but Star Wars has become synonymous with stupid retcons the past couple decades.

Which doesn't make more stupid retcons ok.

We need a new villain or threat, not some guy Palpatine name dropped in ROTS. There's too much exposition baggage with Plagueis for a movie that's going to be seen by more than the fanbase.

Jar Jar returning would require less backstory. ;)

Of course not. The point I was driving at was that stupid retcons are just par the course for the franchise these days and no one should be surprised it they continue to be.

I've come to doubt that we'll see Sith because:

1. Lucas probably didn't put them in the treatments because of the Chosen One prophecy.

2. Disney and JJ probably won't add them because "Sith" is a prequelism and the prequels overinflated the importance of the Sith.

If the Sith do appear, I hope that they won't be called "Darth".

Should the original ESB Emperor appearance and voice be reused for the big bad of episodes 7-9?

Clive Revill is still around, according to the IMDB. His last credit was from 2012 though.

2012 isn't bad, and they can always find a soundalike if they need to.

P.S. Sydow's voice in Ghostbusters II sounds very similar to Revill's in ESB.

I wonder if Revill would be capable of doing an Emperor '80 voice after all these years. If his voice has aged significantly, he may not be up to the job.

Maybe something ancient that makes the Sith look like pussies. I'd be cool with a new Sith threat. However, I wouldn't really want the Sith to be Plagueis or Palpatine.

I am what all Jedi fear to become, and what all Sith wish to be. A GOD!
