I'll take the quiet over sifting through pages upon pages of chatter looking for an actual update.

You won't find one. There hasn't been an update in weeks. But I'm sure Ady is hard at work trying to push this out the door.

*waits for someone to be called entitled*

That was my assumption. Lack of updates = Ady's busy wrapping things up.

I'm only entitled to my patience.

Ady update:

http://swrevisited.wordpress.com/2014/09/14/update-real-paid-work/

Congratulations on getting the gig Ady, you deserve a paying job in the SFX field. Very happy for you and don't worry about the edit taking a bit longer to complete. This time off will charge your batteries and you'll come back to it stronger than ever!

Can you name the short film you'll be working on? Many of us I'm sure will be checking it out when it's done.

Once again, Congrats!!!

Exactly my sentiments marty,

Although temporarily bad news for the edit, It is very good news indeed. If the title cannot be revealed at this time that is not a problem, but please do make us all aware of it when you can at a more appropriate time.

I know that the usual sarcastic comments about how long it's taking will now appear, but I don't care. If I cared about what people complaining think, I would have given up a long time ago and just abandoned the project.

So sad that Adywan is made to feel like this ^. F**k everybody who ever made an impatient comment about ESB:R. People who have, need to take a moment to get a grip on reality.

Take as long as need Adywan, the vast majority are happy to wait 'til it's perfect and you make some money from this other paying job. Ignore anyone else, they are just "Rebel Scum".

I'm extremely happy for Ady that his passion project had lead to a paid job.
This means that what new skills and tricks he learns from this paying Job, can be applied to Revisited to make it even better.

Congratulations Ady!

Wonder if this paying gig involves Ep VII.

Congrats ady! I just got work as an assistant editor - if you lived in Canada, would have loved to have celebrated the victories over steal.

Congrats on the job!  That's something I'm currently debating - if I should take paid work in my hobby-realm or continue to only work on projects in my free time while I get paid for work outside of my hobby...  Both have their pros and cons - tough decision...

Would love to hear your thoughts in a couple months.

Either way, congrats again, and finish ESB:R whenever you're good and ready!

I was wondering that too.  It'd be awesome if it was.

I doubt Seven can be called a "short fan film" by any stretch of the definitions. ;-)

Well i have been trying to go back to answer some of the questions posted a while ago, but so much ha been going on since then and clogging up the thread i've lost track of what i have and haven't replied to or ones that others have given the answer to.  So, if you are awaiting an answer from me about something, would it be possible for you to repost the questions?  Imperial fighter, i know you are one person who i never got around to answering.

No worries whatsoever, as you were extremely busy with the likes of your Dagobah miniatures and other things at the time if I recall, when you posted this last month 4 pages back.

(I've been too busy recently to get back to you on this, but will find certain things from during the time you're referring to as soon as I can, as I remember the few pages that you were especially distracted from answering anything about)

Best of luck with your commission adywan.  I'm sure you'll do some excellent work on it, whatever it entails.

Wait...you haven't told mrs. adywan yet that it involves having to build something big enough to take over her whole kitchen again, have you?!  ;)

Joke aside, sometimes I dread posting here. I say "can't wait to see TESB:R" and I fear people would pile on top to say I'm being pushy. Call me crazy but... :)

Eh!

Hey, Ady, could you spoil us with some photos of the X-Wings you made for the shots? As a scale-modeler I'm curious to see what you did with them.

You're not crazy. I've felt this way now and then, just based on some of the responses that fly around here, or even the "tone" behind the way certain people tend to respond. I just try to keep it friendly as possible and be sure that anything I post is worded as carefully as possible to not accidently set fire under anyone's seat. :-)

That being said, I can't wait to see ESB:R! :-P

It's nice people haven't gone nuts or anything.

As I said on the facespace Ady was bound to get some sort of work and regardless of what it is he needs to do it and banging my face against this key board until I bleed from the eyes does not seem to be changing anything ;-)

I'll keep this brief because its the ESB:R thread and all but one way of keeping people not as adrift as they may be in regards to the sweep of these projects would be to list most of the intended changes for each film. Keeping some as undisclosed surprises, some of which may be revealed at some point, some which may only be revealed when the projects are released and ticking each off when it's done (including the undisclosed ones).

That way people will see progress but nobody will be hooking their hopes to some kind of deadline.

Like an advent calender.

One month Ady might finish a piece of ROTJ:R then a week later finish a smaller change to TPM:R etc

Also if the current delay is going to be a year or over I suggest getting a trusted outsider to make an assembly cut to keep the pot warm.

The funny thing is, that for awhile I thought maybe ESB:R was taking so long because Ady was secretly doing ROTJ:R at the same time and was just gonna release them both together.

Looking forward to this. Very excited.

What exactly did you mean by that?!  Adywan will be done when he's good and ready, darn it!  He's under no obligation to complete this for you or anyone!  Stop trying to pressure him!  He's got a job now!  Geez!
