As far as Obi-Wan was concerned, Luke was the "only hope" to restore the Jedi Order.
I find it bizarre and saddening that Lucas has brainwashed the fanbase into viewing everything through the lens of "Jedi" vs. "Sith."
My apologies, but I don't think Lucas has "brainwashed" any one. I simply believe that, even before the prequels, it was doubtful that Obi-Wan had any plans for Leia to be trained. She had spent most of her life involved in politics and serving as "a member of the Imperial Senate," as well as a leader of the Rebel Alliance. I'm not saying Leia couldn't be trained, but rather Obi-Wan didn't consider her to be trained (either because he wanted to keep her hidden in the event if Luke should fail or because he still abides by some of the Jedi Rules codes, such as "A Jedi cannot train more than once apprentice).
There's also the possibility that Obi-Wan did believe Leia was another new hope, but for restoring the Republic.
You might also say she was considered their "Plan B," yet Obi-Wan and Yoda hoped that it wouldn't be necessary.
