I find it bizarre and saddening that Lucas has brainwashed the fanbase into viewing everything through the lens of "Jedi" vs. "Sith."

Luke was the only hope for the restoration of GOOD, PEACE and JUSTICE--the "Jedi Order" was not an end of itself...or at all, for that matter. Star Wars is supposed to be a fantasy parable about Good vs. Evil, not the obsessive, self-referential, obscurantist ourobouros it has become.

I'll bet people think Obi-Wan was Leia's "only hope" to restore the "Council of 500" or some geeked-out bullshit that no one would possibly know about after watching the garbage movies, but would only learn about through obsessively poring over reams of EU nonsense.
