Life has been insane lately. Can't believe I missed that this has been out!!! Randomly checked in on the SW thread, but have had so much going on lately, that I haven't had time to browse the *entire* forum for a long, long time. Constant work. Constant work at home... Time to relax with this very soon!

Not sure how I missed this, but am super excited and thankful to be able to enjoy this soon!

Those cases / printed discs look great, Stinky!

I've been hunting for a good disc for this purpose, as I'd still really like to help with .."a few of"... these when the time is right for SW, as well as this. Already have the cases, so the rest should be easy enough to get together.

Harmy, you've made my day (a month or so after this has apparently existed...). Appreciate all you do!

Now, when this finishes, I think I'm going to watch it at least twice tomorrow!

Empire's always been my fav.  I've watched the 2.0 DE several times now - even today on my other monitor while I was working.  It's wonderful.

The sad thing is that I am subscribed (since the very beginning of you making it), but never check my "promotions" tab in gmail (which is where it apparently filtered a TON of emails from the list!). I believe that's now been remedied!

Now, if I can find my brain, and remember how I made a basic disc out of the last mkv! Either way, I'm beyond excited!!! This really does make my day in so many ways!

My Myspleen account is on the fritz, so I am sharing these on TPB. I live abroad so it is taking a literal dogs age (1 seeder), but I am darn excited.

In the meantime, I am watching The Clone Wars which has been surprisingly good.

@analog - Ugh, yeah...I hate that Promotions tab crap.  If you have a MySpleen account, one of the guys here made a DVD5 version that you can just download and burn.

EDIT: Removed link. (He probably already read it/clicked it anyways..  :)

Yeah, it's silly. I untagged 'em, so I should see them now.

Also got a disc made last night, so it's all good. Might do the DVD though, just to send to my brother who is still living in the SD era. Certainly better than the vhs or bonus discs he has.

Something nice about physical media still, especially for something this important. Will be patiently waiting for the "final" drafts of Harmy's works though. I still consider my test burns a novelty type thing for my own enjoyment, and not "sanctioned" in any way.

The Gmail tabs are total bullshit. For years I had been pre-ordering this limited edition, numbered series of books... with a certain number reserved so long as I kept my pre-orders active as they became available... and a couple months ago it occured to me that it seemed like a while since I was sent my last "pre-order available" email. I searched my inbox for the author's name and BAM - literally dozens and dozens of missed emails popped up that were invisible to my "regular" inbox because Gmail suddenly had the brilliant idea of filtering out tons of my important shit into a completely separate Promotions category (that I had no idea existed). The sole reason for the new tabs are to maximize the number of personalized ads Google displays on screen, after all if you have to click on many different tabs just to see the complete contents of your inbox each tab is a new separate screen of fantastic ads. Great thinking Google, super convenient. I had missed out on my opportunity to pre-order the next one by a month, and thereby also lost my reserved number and ability to order any of the others in the series... that I had been collecting for several years. I immdiately disabled all those ridiculous extra tabs I didn't know existed, but by that point the damage was done. Fucking Google, fucking assholes.

Do you not see the tabs in your browser? At the top of the inbox? Lighting up colors when you get emails in each?

Lighting up colors? No definitely not. They're all subtle grey, same basic color as everything else, and they blend perfectly into the background right underneath the ads that show up in the area of the screen I always ignore.

I never noticed the tabs, and I never would've known they were there unless I had searched for that author's name specifically and saw all the emails I had missed... because nothing in those tabs ever showed up in my regular inbox. I never thought they'd just start transferring over emails I had always got in my "regular" inbox into completely arbitrary, retarded categories.

This is one of the many downsides of using a "free" e-mail service. :-/

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Yeah, their R2 units have bad motivators.

On another note, this Empire Strikes Back makes me happy beyond words. It's a shining star of greatness in a world that has seemingly forgotten about slowing down, and enjoying the little things in life that are good. No stupid CGI, no bs, just empire in all of its bittersweet glory, and in HD.

I turned the panels off as soon as they first appeared. I also don't have any ads in my GMail but that's probably thanks to Adblock.

"... a world that has seemingly forgotten about slowing down and enjoying the little things in life..." You're sure as to shit right about that.

That's strange. They definitely light up colors for me when a new email appears in each one. Which browser?

You probably shouldn't post a link to specific myspleen torrents here...

Just finished watching this!  The stuff from Negative1 looks amazing, a little grainy in comparison to the other sources but amazing nonetheless!  This is a huge improvement over v1.0.

Wow! How could the "professionals" have access to theoretically better sources, yet produce something so clearly inferior to work being done by hobbyists? That's just another vivid example of the importance of the various preservation efforts being done here.

Holy film grain, Harmy man. Very cool.

Yeah, I'd say that's a prime example of digital noise reduction madness. Makes me miss having real film in our theater here. No matter how fancy digital gets, there is absolutely nothing like film.

That was the whole "Lowery process," wasn't it? DNR the whole thing and then regrain it to hide the fact that there is less detail.

More or less--but this Lowryization is "baked" into the SE. There are no SE source elements without it--so I'm not surprised projection prints of the original films can look better than the best "Lucasfilm vault" footage available of the Special Editions, and thank goodness (and -1) for that!
