Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released) — Page 10

Several brief scenes were cut after the initial release:
1 - The gorilla picking up Eddie by the lapels after the line "Who are you calling a chump, chimp!
2 - The beginning of Roger's reaction as the weasels cross the road to Eddie's office
3 - A brief dialogue exchange between Eddie and Smartass while Roger is hiding in the sink

I had actually looked into these scenes.  There is no solid evidence that they were changed from the theatrical version of the film.  IMDB is like Wikipedia in a lot of areas in that users can edit sections without any major moderation, so incorrect information can make its way into various sections.

1 - The gorilla does grab Eddie by the lapels in all video versions and then the scene cuts to Eddie being thrown out the door.  Bob Hoskins isn't wearing a harness so there really isn't much that could be done beyond what is seen in the film before the cut and the scene after the cut is not composed to show the gorilla picking him up.

2 - Roger's reaction appears to be complete in all video versions.  There isn't anything that could be added to the beginning of the animation since it starts with a couple of frames of him looking out of the window after the cut.

3 - There isn't any dialog in any of the scripts for the film that would indicate that dialog was missing during the scene where Eddie hiding Roger by pretending to wash his socks in the sink.

On top of that, the edits that Disney made were all due to material that was considered objectionable.  None of the edits listed would make sense in this context.

As far as the phone number in the bathroom, there has been more evidence submitted that it's a false rumor than any evidence to prove that it actually existed.  Every time someone claims they have a video with it, I ask for proof in the form of a screenshot  of some form.  I've yet to see ANYBODY pony up a screenshot, but a TV special that was shown during the time the film was first released in theaters has the scene as it appeared in all video versions, so I still have to believe it's a false rumor until valid proof otherwise is presented other than "I saw it there!"

Not that I ever believed the rumor, but has anyone ever uploaded that television special anywhere so that this matter could be put to rest once and for all?

I though it was somewhere in this thread where someone mentioned the name of the TV special that had the scene with Eddie Valiant in the out of order bathroom but I can't seem to find it now.

Hmm...so I guess that raises another question: does anyone want me to try making this television special available?

Fair warning: I taped it when I was ten years old or so - on a Betamax, no less - and didn't tape the commercials, so the video isn't going to be the greatest quality.

Awesome, thanks! Probably looks a lot better than my version would. :)

Ok, so I finally have all the frames decensored for the Trail Mix-Up scene.  Now I need to put them back in the original video in the right place.

I have only NOW found this thread. Which version of the movie is the "uncensored AND best"? On myspleen I see

Who Framed Roger Rabbit - 1080p Uncensored version

Is that the "defitinitve" version?

There is 25GB Blu ray disc (max quality of course), and two smaller encodes, one 1080p and the other 720p.

The 24.94 gb torrent is the original uncensored mkv with as near to the original bluray quality as I could get.  OldSkoolFan's AVCHD torrents are smaller versions for those that wanted something with a more manageable size.

I just realized that I never did upload the uncensored version of Trail Mix-Up anywhere.  I need to fix that.

Thanks guys, so I hope I have the "relatively correct" version :-)

Are there any guides on replacing the video stream on a retail bluray disc?  I want to swap out the video streams for the main movie and trail mix-up with the uncensored versions.  I thought multiAVCHD had this capability but I can't seem to find it and tsMuxer won't let me select a name for the resulting m2ts file when I remux using the bluray structure, which messes up the playlist and clipinfo files.

So, from what I understand, BD Reauthor Pro (by DVDlogic) is the best option for what you're trying to accomplish. The reason I say this, is because over on rutracker, I see that being used to reauthor blurays more than anything else and the results are always satisfactory and have good reviews, on top of the fact that I can vouch for the fact that those are always good copies (haven't seen one messed up one yet)

the official link for the software is: http://www.dvd-logic.com/bdreauthorpro.php (there are pirated copies floating around, I'm sure, but this is the official site for it and that is the only link I'll provide as I am NOT supporting piracy)

@Space Kaijuu,

You can use tsMuxeR to create a Blu-ray folder with the new video you want to add in.  (Do the movie and short separately.)  You'll want to make sure you have the same number and order of audio and subtitle tracks as well (even if you blank them later).

Under the Blu-ray tab, there is an area that says 'Options'.  Here you can set the first MPLS and first M2TS.  Set these numbers to correspond with numbers on the Blu-ray you are rebuilding.

Next you need to copy the .M2TS from new STREAMS folder, the .CLPI from new CLIPINF folder (will be the same number as the .M2TS), and the corresponding .MPLS from new PLAYLISTS into the old BD structure.

The .MPLS isn't usually the same number as the .M2TS and if you don't know it you can use BDEdit or various other tools to find it.  (If you want info on this let me know.)

You'll also want to replace the same CLPI & MPLS files in the BACKUP folder as well.

It's... not really simple.

Unrelated to the HDTV restoration, but this gem seems very much worth preserving and cleaning up:

Pre-Zemeckis test animations with an early version of Roger (voiced by Paul Reubens), Jessica, and a character from the novel who got cut.

I finally got around to posting the uncensored Trail Mix-Up video to a certain spleen.

Thanks for uploading; it looks great :)

I just watched it and noticed something - at 3:52 there is a sign that says "do not disturb the bees! - thank you". At 3:53 Roger moves in front of it and it loses a bit of the text; it's more like "thank yo" at that point. It then pops back to "thank you" at 3:54.

This is NOT due to your encode; I went back to the original Blu-ray and the same thing happens there. Does anyone have a DVD or LD copy that they can check to see whether the same thing happens (if the quality is good enough to tell in the first place)? I'm just curious as to whether this is an issue with the Blu-ray or whether it's actually an animation error.

I'm not complaining; I'm just curious :)

I have been waiting many years for the uncensored version to appear, and to become available outside of obscure collectors...

I was so very impressed by the transfer of the french torrent and that it had even more uncensored scenes than I remember from the FlAir laserdisc.

Thanks go out to the OP who told us all about the french torrent and for the person whom uploaded it to the internet. ( the non usenet version)

Like many people left in cyberspace, I do not have a myspleen account, but I do have the original torrent with the french audio.

Is there anyway I can get a copy of Qui veut la peau de Roger Rabbit.HDTV.1080 with english audio synced?

Failing that, can you tell me where you found the english audio, which was made to sync up with the french video and how to encode it myself?

I am using an anoXmous bluray audio source, as the replacement for english audio and have made a file with it spliced together with the video; however the french video runtime is 1:32:44 and the audio (anoXmous's) is 1:43:45.

I have been trying for the past couple of days, reading what to do on forums involving programs like audacity, mkvmerge and pazera audio converter.

I managed to remove the french audio from the Qui veut la... torrent and am in the process of re-encoding the video to the frame rate of 23.976 ( the same as the anoXmous video with english audio)

Your help would me much appreciated

The audio was not synched to the French HDTV rip.  The French HDTV rip was used to remove the censorship on the affected frames in the blu-ray video.

Thanks for the reply Space Kaijuu

I do know that there was no english audio on the french HDTV rip, and that it can only be played in French audio.

So, then I cannot use any english audio from any other sources to try and sync it with the French HDTV rip?

As stated before, I do not have a myspleen account, so I cannot even look at the uncensored torrent listings, for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I recall that you were talking about uploading a 25gig torrent using "uncensored video along with the English DTS audio track, a French DTS track, and the German ac3 audio that's been synced to the video"

Is this a copy where the sound plays in sync with the video?

Is there anyway that I can have a copy of the 25 gig file and (or) a much less smaller file version?

I am not sure if I am getting this confused with the recent talk, about creating an uncensored copy of the three roger rabbit shorts. I hope that I am not.

I am also interested in finding a downloadable copy of the Laserdisc Flair had uploaded many years ago; however it has disappeared from everything but usenet groups.

A 35mm print has become available for about $900, would anyone be interested in a 35mm restoration?

There is a 25gb mkv file on the spleen that has the uncensored video and multiple audio tracks as well as a smaller, more compressed version.  The audio tracks are all synced to this version.  The only option I can offer at the moment is the torrent on the spleen.  You could try adjusting the delay on the bluray audio to see if you can sync it to the french HDTV rip but there's no guarantee that it will work.

Has anyone had success muxing the 25 gb version?

I conitnue to get errors every time and I have downloaded the file multiple times to insure it was not the file.

The 25gb MKV is no longer on the Spleen, only an AVCHD downconversion. Anybody still have the original 25gb one? Thanks.
