Sorry. Had to run to another city. Wife is having baby. Will move later.

So yes, my wife had her baby.  I am home now getting things ready, and I will take the other kids to go see their mom and new sister tomorrow.  Can't make too many moves today, maybe even just this one, but I did want to resume our game.  I was pretty sure I'd make this move, but since I'd made a couple of moves without looking at the board in the past, then truly regretted doing so, I figured I'd wait to see if you'd done something I didn't expect.

Well, I've had no such luck, but maybe things will turn around. :-)

I'm dreading your next move, if you do what I think you'll do. It seems I always make the same mistakes and end up with a rampaging rook in the wrong places. :P

Bx7g.  I'm not sure I see what you see.  I am putting more pressure, but I don't feel like I've trapped anything else at present.

Well, I don't see anything in particular, but you could easily cause me a lot of trouble right away by moving your rook down the board. Especially since you have a bishop that will soon be threatening my rook and another bishop in hand. I think I can still put up a pretty good fight though.

Assuming you meant +Lx7g, G*5h

I suppose I meant I was dreading the following moves, plural, since I was (and still am) anticipating you doing something with that rook of yours.

No, I meant my bishop on B2, However, I did mean to say Bx7g+.  I hope you'll still let me promote, but if not, that's fine.  What move would you make then in that case?

Oops, sorry. I can't believe I didn't see that. Yeah, I'll let you promote.

My move is instead R-4i

Since I'm going to a regular school this year (I'm glad I've been to one before, since this one has multiple buildings and three stories), beginning tomorrow, I'll only be able to move during my lunch break and in the evening. Since I'll be going to bed no later than 10:30 on weekdays (8:30 for you), I doubt I'll get many moves in.

I don't know if that will make a difference in terms of how fast our games go, but we'll see. I thought I'd let you know, just so you wouldn't expect me to move if you had a chance to move a few times yourself.

Hey, no worries.  I have a new baby and a job with stupid hours, so I don't know that I'll be much better.  We'll take it nice and slow.

It was weird sending my mom off to school today. She's taking a French course for adults at my school, and it starts an hour earlier than my school does.

I hope I won't regret dropping everything on the board at once.

Bonne nuit.

Well, it's honestly better to keep most pieces on the board, with maybe only one or two in hand.  Trouble is that your drops didn't give you any gains, and likely more loss.  I might have done the same as you, but now in retrospect, you probably should have dropped your pieces closer to your king as part of a defensive strategy instead of trying to force me out of your territory.  I have a powerful but not very valuable piece (promoted lance) supported by a very powerful piece, and therefore I can attack and force a trade in my favor.

 Yeah, I think you're right.

I'm assuming that was a typo and you meant +Bx6g, but correct me if I'm wrong.

If I assumed correctly, R-3i
