I guess there has been some potential interest in Sammy Sosa from the Mets. Dunno what truth there is to it. May just be the optimistic rumblings of disgruntled Cubs fans. But I'd like to believe it. There is in fact a window when Sammy can be traded this off season without any input from him (he can't veto the trade or anything else). I just hope the Cubbies take advantage of it. Let's lose Sammy and Alou, re-sign Nomar, and make a strong run for Beltran. That would make for a good start to 2005.

I live in Chicago. I'm not from Chicago. I was born in New York and became a Yankee's fan while living in Connecticut. In Connecticut, you have a choice of rooting for the Mets, Red Sox, and Yankees. Yanks were the biggest underdog at the time of the three teams (1985) and I really dug on a certain firstbaseman named Don Mattingly. Still think the guy was one of the greats of the 80s and early 90s. Carried that love of the Yankees with me out here to Chicagoland. As years went on and the Yanks got better and better, everybody became a fan. It became a bit too much when I was being accused of being a bandwagoneer despite being a fan since '85 (it takes quite a bit of time to explain it to them, then there's always the question of whether they'll believe you... I gave up). But I attribute most of my disgust towards the Yanks when they started pillaging the majors for their team instead of their own farm system and also to the time when I saw my first pink Yankees hat. That was just too much.

Yeah, I get the same thing Bossk. Ppl here in Cali think I am just a fan of Boston because they r winning games. It baffles me cause I can't see the point of my three t-shirts and two hats promoting the team when I am just a "front-runner" lol.
