Idea & Info: Star Wars OOT with Deleted Scenes?

Are there any bootlegs of the Original versions of the Original Trilogy with the deleted scenes placed into the sequence of each film?  For example, is there a “Star Wars” bootleg with the Biggs/Windy scenes and the original Jabba scene (with the Human actor) IN the actual movie?  Or an “ESB” with the wappa scene, or a ROTJ with the Jerjerrod/Lightsaber construction scenes intact?

I doubt that there is, since I’ve never read about anything like them and I know a lot of these deleted scenes are either in terrible quality or aren’t available, but why not ask anyway?

-Someone, someday, needs to bring back the LIGHT SIDE to Star Wars.  Has anyone else noticed striking similarites between the character of Anakin/Vader and George Lucas, or is it just me?

-It's called STAR WARS. NOT "Episode IV: A New Hope". Kids, get this straight.

I want to make just a Bonus-Disc with Deleted scenes to the original theatrical version of the trilogy. As DVD and/or Blu Ray. Mostly I want to make color corrections and picture cleaning to the official Blu Ray deleted scenes.

Can someone recreate the deleted Jabba Scene from "a new hope" with the actor Declan Mulholland in HD? The available version of a reconstruction is bad because you can see the stencils and the quality differences of the sources, also a color correction is missing and the aspect ration is wrong:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCdZ11BM-6Y

The documentary "From Star Wars to Jedi", which is only available on VHS in US and UK and Laserdisc in Japan, contains the half scene in 4:4 aspect ration. And the sound is also not complete, Mark Hamil, as the main narrator, is talking about the scene while it is showing.

And I also want to see the final version from 1997 in HD, with and without original cinema subtitles. If someone needs some source, I have a DVD Transfer from a 1997 German Laserdisc, with original German cinema subtitles.

I have no material to reconstruct the Jabba scene, only a DVD-Transfer of the 1997 German Laserdisc, the bad reconstruction in the youtube version, the official DVD and Blu Ray and the UK VHS "From Star Wars to Jedi".

If someone could send me all existing material from the scene with Declan Mulholland, in the best available quality, that would be great.

I would try to made a better reconstruction with the apple program "Final Cut Pro 7", but first someone have to send me the material.

I would try to make it like Harmy described how he made his despecialised reconstruction of the movie in this Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHfLX_TMduY

I hope someone can soon help me with my project.

I wouldn't mind seeing a lower quality version put together to match the deleted scenes; like "War of the Stars," but without all the funny stuff.

I will be making "extended cut" versions of the trilogy using as much deleted material as possible Rough as some of it may be, I still want to use everything.

someone made a fan edit called Deleted Magic years ago. It did a lot of what you're talking about, however it was made before any of the new blu ray deleted scenes and footage was available.

I'm sure such an edit could be upgraded significantly now. The only deleted scenes available prior to the blu-ray were on a highly compressed CD-rom from the 90's and they only included some from Star Wars. The footage from Empire and Jedi is new.

Take back the trilogy. Execute Order '77

As a fan who remembers seeing the original theatrical cut of Star Wars multiple times on the big screen, let me toss in two cents. We never got the puritanical cut of Star Wars we desired even back then.

My friends and I had all the related stuff--trading cards, comic books, picture story book, novelization, ad infinitum... and ALL of them contained the storyline and still images of Luke observing the battle overhead through macrobinoculars, then his subsequent interactions with Biggs, Fixer, Camie, et al on Tatooine.

We never understood as kids why this storyline wasn't in the film when it was featured prominently in everything else Star Wars. Looking back, it's an incredibly important part of the hero's journey: The friends who are going nowhere; Biggs, the big guy who is going places and who Luke idolizes; their interactions at the end of the film that make his death a poignant moment.

Lucas cut the whole thread because his first screening to his friends resulted in comparisons to American Graffiti. Perhaps an understandable decision at the time, but tragic in the greater context of "From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker."

I would argue that restoring this footage to a "despecialized" version would satisfy those who are puritanical in their pursuit of the original film. Thank you to any and all who are considering integrating this footage into a version of the film I have longed to see for 37 years...

It's called Deleted Magic.  Really, really well done and fun to watch.

Having said that, in my opinion, the movie is MUCH better without the deleted scenes.  They are plodding, and remove some of the mystery that makes the first film so effective.  One of George Lucas' greatest strengths, and also one of his faults, is that he wants to show you everything.  The tight editing and leaving some of the details open to imagination worked out for the best.  I'd go so far as saying it was editing that made the difference between a fun film, and one of the greatest films of all time.  It didn't win an academy award for editing for nothing.

Puggo--Just watched and agreed. That did not play well. Stands in stark contrast to the NPR radio drama. The uncut nature of the radio script (no back and forth with the battle overhead) and the music behind the dialogue were fantastic. But yes--this plays like crap. It's a shame, because from a story arc standpoint it's so integral. Just very poorly executed.
