Maybe they don't want to do it without the involvement of the creator. However I think it would be surprising that an organisation like film studio would exhibit such an "honourable stance". They certainly didn't mind releasing Alien3 without Fincher's involvement. But unlike Fincher's case, Fox is probably more on friendly terms with Lucas.
