I got a copy of the original trilogy on Netflix a few years back so not sure what they mean that its not available. Granted, it a rip of the 1985 Laserdisc but its better than nothing. I watched the first one of the series last month. Its non-anamorphic but it was the original that I saw in theaters back in '77.
