If I may be so bold as to give my best guess...

We will get a Restored Original theatrical release on Blu-ray.

We will probably get a tweaked / revamped 3D release in Cinemas of OT with later 3D Blu-ray release

And we will also get the new films and spin offs. in 3D also

Disney want to get a return on investment. It's not complicated only when and how this will happen. They want to use the OT (more popular series) as a spring board for this money making exercise but I am sure they also want to cater to existing fans but also cater to new ones. They want their investment to work for them at the end of the day.

Let's just say Disney want to make their Star wars rights purchase a huge success. Right now though they need to make Star Wars theirs with the next installment of episode 7.
