This is a great idea, these are the things I think you should do.
Mute the colors to create a darker feel to the movie.
Remove Mary Jane/Peter Parker relationship.
Remove as much as Mary Jane as possible.
Make the film more streamlined.
Build the movie more around Uncle Bens death.
Remove Peter Parkers stupid moments.
