I've seen the film in 35 mm a few times and had the widescreen laserdisc release and DVD. Nothing was readily apparent, maybe I wasn't listening closely enough.

The 1999 VHS was remixed I think. It had a lot more 'whizzing' noises in the gun battle scenes and also the sound of Indy dropping the staff into the map room is a different sound. The 2003 mix is similar to what was used on past VHS and Laserdisc (I assume) releases. The BluRay I believe used elements of an original mono mix which also has the 'whizzing' noises from the 1999 mix. I actually prefer the 2003 mix personally but thats just me.
