Wow, that's amazing. I mean it's not even a complete thought. The movie had a few very slight variations before '97, so....what? Do nothing? There will be chaos if they put out a great looking blu-ray that doesn't have them all? So dumb.
Not just before '97, but there were even variations between the prints circulating in '77 when it was released!
Of course we would all be perfectly happy with any pre-'97 version. Sure, I grew up with the '81 crawl and the tractor beam being coupled to the reactor in seven locations, but little things like that just aren't significant and don't detract from the movie. Everyone knows what we really want. We want the CGI garbage and SE revisionism gone!
