The AVHCD is 6500 Kbps, the MKV will be 15000 Kbps.

Makes me even more anxious for the MAIN MKV file !

Incredible work as always Harmy and thank you! I do need to report one issue, however. As others have found, there seems to be some kind of encoding problem.

With all previous releases I've been able to burn the iso to disc then use makemkv to create a mkv and finally convert it into mp4 without any transcoding using MkvToMp4. With this release the resultant file will play but if you try to skip ahead to any other scene it just hangs. This has been confirmed on multiple PC's using both Win 7 and 8.

As a last resort, I re-encoded it using Handbrake. That mp4 file will play and allow you to navigate but even then there's still a slight lag when moving ahead. Not sure what the issue is but none of the other releases have done this nor have any other mkv's I've converted to mp4

Actually, I'm planning two MKV versions, the main one with 15000Kbps BD compatible stream and lossless audio and then another, cropped to 1280x542 [...]

Can anyone tell me, why the main release is not cropped?

Darth Id on ‘Why “Ben”?’:

And while we’re at it, we need to figure out why they kept calling Mark Hamill’s character “Luke Skywalker,” since it’s my subjective opinion that his name is actually Schnarzle Shnuzzle.  It just doesn’t make sense!

Damn you George Lucas for never explaining why they all keep calling Schnarzle “Luke”!

Damn You!!!

I will have to try again, but the one time I tried to skip back a few seconds under XBMC 13.1 (Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit), the video hung.  To get anything other than audio going again, I had to stop then resume the file playback.  I'll try jumping around in it again later (pausing seemed to work fine, though).

Question for Harmy, what was the source for the opening crawl?  I assume it just came straight from the BD; wherever it came from, it doesn't seem to me to be as sharp as the crawl you recreated for SW.  More importantly, when text comes onto the screen at the bottom it has a bit of a yellow bleed around it, which goes away some the further onto the screen it crawls.  Is that something you consider as having looked that way originally, or might a newly generated crawl be in order for v2.1?

 Blu-ray compliance, I'm sure.

Which version will have the rounded corners?

Were you able to convert the AVCHD SW 2.5 without issue? I have the same problems with that release. Luckily the ESB 2.0 wont be a problem for me since Harmy is releasing two different size MKVs.

Hello guys !

First of all, thanks Harmy ! I have not seen the movie yet, but I have no doubt that it"s amazing ! I can't wait to watch my favourite star wars movie in .mkv !

I have uploaded it to uptobox, if anyone is interested, just send me a PM.

Harmy, if you want I can send you the links to put them on tehparadox. ;)

Uptobox doesn't seem to work for US folks.

 Really ?

Ok so I will upload it to 1fichier.com too.

I have a 1fichier account. But I can't find the ISO file to download. Can you reply with the link to the file? Thanks.

Thanks for another awesome release Harmy (and hairy_hen and everyone else)! My daughter is old enough for Empire now so it's timely. Summer is busy but I'm sure we'll watch it by the end of the year.

Yes. Had no issues with SW

Oh wow, the moment I downloaded the AVCHD is the moment I learned that all of my blank DVD-Rs just won't write anymore. My disc drive won't even recognize them. In any case, I was able to extract the video file and it looks great, and it's reassuring knowing the MKV will look even better. God, the revised Cloud City walkthroughs look so crisp. Great work, Harmy!

I have this same issue on Windows 7.

Keep in mind, it could be your DVD drive going bad, rather than your discs having problems.

I did keep this in mind, but I ran some tests and the drive doesn't have any problem reading CDs or DVDs. When I ran a test using some Windows Fixit software, it just said that the DVD-Rs weren't writable.

Save the snotty comments. Teh paradox doesn't work reliably for many folks, and a Myspleen torrent is blocked if your membership has been deleted. U.S. forum customers are blocked from uptobox.  What is needed is a reliable iso file that everyone can use a Bittorrent client to download. Once I can assemble one, I will share it using Dropbox or Google drive!

Got it from paradox in about 45 minutes, not sure why so many people are having problems...

Harmy, hairy_hen, everyone that contributed...thank you so much for this awesome release. Just watched it with the wife and it was glorious!

It's because some people are too impatient to wait more than 5 minutes.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about.  It's just a forum.

Do we/should we have an official nominee to submit the .mkv to MySpleen? My home upload speed isn't the greatest so I'm probably not the best candidate, but I wanted to bring up the subject.

Well, pardon me. I should have said the "downloads" listed there don't work reliably for some folks. My point is that a single file download, via torrent, is a lot easier for some. And I'm not impatient, as I have yet to download the entire file but have a torrent download in progress at the moment, which is all I asked about.
