Thanks Harmy!

Are the 1.0 audio tracks compatible (synced) to 2.0?

Darth Id on ‘Why “Ben”?’:

And while we’re at it, we need to figure out why they kept calling Mark Hamill’s character “Luke Skywalker,” since it’s my subjective opinion that his name is actually Schnarzle Shnuzzle.  It just doesn’t make sense!

Damn you George Lucas for never explaining why they all keep calling Schnarzle “Luke”!

Damn You!!!

Wow, looks amazing. I haven't watched the workprint so this is a real treat and will definitely suffice until the MKV is ready!  Top notch work as usual Harmy!

I think myspleen canceled a bunch of accounts and now are no longer handing them out again.  We need a different place.

We have one.  It's called tehparadox.

And all you people asking for invites, for the love of all things Harmy, please read the first post.

I couldn't either. What I did with both SW 2.5 and this is to drag the playlist file onto tsMuxeR (to preserve the chapters), deselect whatever streams you don't want and choose TS Muxing as the output. Works fine in XBMC.

You mean remuxing works if you use tsMuxeR? That's what I would have done in the first place but I don't have the time right now.

Thanks Harmy!!!

That is a known issue - if you want to mux an mkv, you'll need to use a different version of MKV merge or first demux all the tracks in TS Muxer and then re-mux them in MKV merge.

Is there any disadvantage if you do all the work with tsMuxeR?

Well, TS Muxer can't do MKV and if your player supports m2ts, you can simply use the m2ts file from the AVCHD.

I found the Star Wars Despecialized Edition making of video on youtube very fascinating. Are there going to be videos explaining the sources for Empire and Jedi too, or was it just a thing made for the Star Wars Depescialied Edition?

I hate to be the one to say it, Harmy, but if there are going to be more, you might find someone here that's better suited for voiceover work. You're the king, but even kings need heralds.

Or maybe I'm just an asshole.

Really looking forward to breaking in my new apartment next week with the MKV! Excellent work, once again.

There does seem to be an issue with demuxing here - clownBD/eac3to chokes (it appears to be caused by stream 6 / audio track 5), and tsMuxeR gives up halfway through.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to make an MKV, just remuxing it to a BD folder format; the problem is with the initial demux.

It's just a bit frustrating since, as others have said, the previous DEs behaved just fine...

Hello guys !

First of all, thanks Harmy ! I have not seen the movie yet, but I have no doubt that it"s amazing ! I can't wait to watch my favourite star wars movie in .mkv !

I have uploaded it to uptobox, if anyone is interested, just send me a PM.

Harmy, if you want I can send you the links to put them on tehparadox. ;)

Uptobox doesn't seem to work for US folks.

 Really ?

Ok so I will upload it to 1fichier.com too.

...you might find someone here that's better suited for voiceover work.

Funny you mention that...

Earlier today I was watching the first sources doc thinking Harmy's voice is actually good, but the recording could use a proper mix and mastering session. So I remastered the whole and it sounds much better, despite starting from a compressed source. Of course it would be even better if I had separate tracks for voice and background music.

I certainly don't want to step on Hairy Hen's toes, or anyone else's for that matter, but if nobody has stepped up to offer audio engineering for the documentaries I'll be glad to lend my talents.

Just got done watching it. Fantastic work Harmy! I can't express how wonderful it is to have the Empire Strikes Back...back! The despecialized shots are terrific and the color timing was superb.

I did notice something odd though. In the first shot after Luke has arrived on Cloud City and he's walking down that hallway toward the camera, the sky suddenly dims about a second after the wipe. I checked and it's there both on my blu-ray player and PC.

I don't remember any problems when I watched it.

I mounted the ISO with Deamon Tools, put the 00000.mpls playlist file into TS Muxer (v 2.6.12) and everything demuxed just fine. Then I tried creating a BD folder and it also went ok. But MKV Merge does seem to freeze up for some reason, so that kind of sucks but I have no idea what could be the problem there.

As to the documentary, no I'm not planning a doc like that about ESB or ROTJ at the moment.

Tried Daemon tools instead of winrar and of course it worked fine - this should be the first step for anyone else who wants to tinker with the streams. Thanks Harmy.

I can't recall it being mentioned - will the MKV be letterboxed 720p or cropped to the frame size?

Actually, I'm planning two MKV versions, the main one with 15000Kbps BD compatible stream and lossless audio and then another, cropped to 1280x542 at a much lower bitrate with the same audio options as the AVCHD for those, who want a more compact MKV version of around 5GB (it's preferable to people making their own smaller encodes with crappy settings from an already re-compressed source) - I could technically already release the smaller MKV now but I don't want people thinking it's the main MKV release.

Harmy, this is actually great for me! Previously I would have to remux the AVCHD to use get a compact (~6-7gb) MKV for streaming purposes to avoid compressing the video a second time on the larger MKV. I would then archive the larger MKV on blu-ray disc. I know this is asking a lot, but any chance you would do a smaller MKV release as well for SW 2.5? I am continuing to have issues remuxing that file as well. I will try tonight as you suggested demuxing first and then using mkvmerge.

When do you think you could release the main mkv?

When he damn well feels like it. LOL, seriously, I'd like to know that too. I'm still grabbing the AVCHD though to hold me over. If I remember correctly, I can just use MPC with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack to play the files, as I am currently out of DL DVD's.

Thanks yet again Harmy! :)

By the way, it has already hit TPB.

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

The AVCHD is encoded so well I can't make out any compression issues watching on my Plasma.  I'll still be grabbing the main MKV to make a blu ray with but the AVCHD looks damn good!
