I'm currently watching the '60s Spider-Man cartoon, and I've just started on the third and final season.

I haven't much to say beyond that this is the greatest worst TV series I've ever seen in my entire life -- I can't think of anything else I've seen that comes even close to being as horribly beautiful as this show.

Suffice it to say, first chance I get I'm buying all three seasons on DVD.

Don't know if they're out on DVD, but the 60's cartoons of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America are worth checking out. The animation is even more crude than Spidey, but is comparable to the motion comics done today.

There's also Hanna Barbera's take on the Fantastic Four from the same era.

So in my viewing of Farscape I discovered the earliest episode I'd seen before trying to view it all. The start of season 3. That's the episode.

Also the last series I watched was War of the Worlds season 2 first episode. Episode made me feel like I put the wrong disc in or something because the title of the episode happens after something that seems like it could be an episode title but isn't. That aside I like this show.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to decipher this sentence.

Alright so the episode title is "The Second Wave" however immediately after the intro there's this text that says "Almost Tomorrow". Seems more like an episode title rather than a different way to establish a kind of "near future" timeline. Minutes after that the actual episode title comes up.

So, it made me think I put in the wrong disc because something shows up that could've been an episode title, but wasn't, prior to the actual episode title.

THE STRAIN (2014)

Guillermo del Toro needs to start developing more series immediately. The first episode of this new show premiered tonight. It has all the makings of something epic. This is going to be awesome.

Missed it, but the book was great.

I spent the morning watching Batgirl-centric episodes of "Batman- The Animated Series" with my kids.

Wow,I can't wait for that to come to DvD.  Sounds like this could be my new favorite show on American TV.

I've started to rewatch two shows right now: Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Mutant X.

Spider-Man: TAS, for all it's flaws, is still a pretty good series. Mutant X, on the other hand ... well, let's just say that there are only two good things about Mutant X: Tom McCamus as Mason Eckhart and Lauren Lee Smith as Emma deLauro, and she only gets good in the second season. Everything else? Mindnumbingly stupid. I can see why I liked this show as a kid.

Just watched the whole first season of Rick and Morty.

I then popped into another dimension and watched the next 78 seasons back to back.

Just started catching up on season 4 of Game of Thrones. If Disney want to do The Young Qui-Gon Chronicles here's their bi...I mean guy :

I just caught up with Series 2 of Utopia.

The first amazing episode aside it's not as amazing as the first series.

Ian McDiarmid is only fun when he isn't speaking English. The cleverness of the good guys is displayed by having the bad guys so idiotic it hard to see how their over-arching conspiracy could possibly hold together. The digital blood is nowhere near as convincing this time round. But it's still a fun shaggy dog romp propelled largely by the momentum of the characters as played by the original cast.

The prequel first episode however is a work of genius and was almost too daring and evocative to watch.

The first series and the first episode of this series I would class as essential viewing, where as the rest of the second series is less satisfying second helpings.

I can't see why an American remake series would even be necessary. They could take the same conspiracy and just do a show about a series of American characters caught up in it. Global conspiracies are bound to have a different impact somewhere else. UK fans would be interested to find out how the story played out in the US. US fans would be interested in finding out the UK story.

By remaking it all you are going to do is piss people off by giving them a knock off of the original show.

I started watching this much at the behest of the better half.

The horror bits are fun in a cheesy sort of way but it's all very sub-sub Salem's Lot (1979).

The rest of it is very very bad soap opera.

The protagonist so far is meant to be a recovering alcoholic, whom because the time restraints of his demanding job, is losing his family and yet he and his co-worker look like this :

While his incompetent superficial boss looks like this :

Now call me picky but if you have ever tried to get fit (less fit than Corey Stoll) it takes time down the gym a lot of hours out of your day.

So wouldn't it have made more sense to have Daniel Kash play the hard working family man loosing his wife and child to a job he cares deeply about beset with figure damaging substance abuse and have Corey Stoll play the callous, inpatient boss with too much time on his hands?

Just sayin'

Agreed. I tried to give it a fair go but I've lost interest now. It just isn't floating my boat.

Been watching that old Spielberg series Amazing Stories. I remember it vaguely from it's original TV run. Some of the episodes hold up really well and some are terrible. it's a real mixed bag of quality.

Spielberg had enough clout to get a two year guarantee out of NBC, so they couldn't cancel it until that was up. Kind of a shame nobody does anthology shows anymore.

"Hell Toupee" and "Mummy Daddy" were two of the funniest episodes, as was "Family Dog", which was spun off into it's own short lived series in the wake of Simpsons mania. I wish Adult Swim would dig that up. AFAIK, it's not on DVD.

Forget that! Just hire him for Episode VIII or IX. This guy was just so freakin great in GoT, give him anyone to play.

I finished watching two different series the over the past week: Total Recall 2070 and Gargoyles.

While it took awhile to gain momentum, and the female characters were kind of dull, Total Recall 2070 was still pretty good and it did justice to the themes of Philip K. Dick's stories. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after a single season just when it was starting to find its footing.

7.5/10

In regard to Gargoyles, well, I have absolutely nothing really bad to say about it. The writing was consistently good and the casting was perfect. If I have anything negative to say about it, it's that the main storyarc of the second season dragged a bit. Of course, the positive far outweighs the negative.

Of course, I didn't bother watching the third and final season beyond the first episode, as I've heard the show just degenerates into a cheap Saturday morning cartoon from there.

9.5/10

I'm now trying to finish rewatching Batman: The Animated Series. I began rewatching the show way back in the winter, but I largely pushed it to the side to make way for other TV shows and movies I felt needed to be watched/rewatched first. Having decided to get through it and get it over with, I've started to watch the remaining episodes with earnest and I'm now almost finished the first season; just seventeen episodes or so more to go and then I can start on the second season.

Once I've finished watching the second season, though, I'm not going to bother with the episodes that were made after the series was relaunched with new character designs. I never watched those episodes as a kid, therefore I feel no pressing need to watch them, and from what I've seen of the show's entire overhauled look from the crossover with Superman: The Animated Series and various clips and screencaps I've looked at, I know I just wouldn't like it.

Started Batman: TAS awhile back with some friends, but haven't gotten too far into it.

Been wanting to watch TNT's Legends because Sean Bean, but we'll see. TV isn't my thing really.

Justified (2010- )

This show caught my interest when it first started to air. I caught the first couple of episodes but then was distracted and never got around to picking it up again. I finally did and have been watching an episode a day for a while now.

The first two seasons were strong but then season three hit and I thought the show had jumped the shark. The parallels between the lives of Raylan and Boyd had reached comical levels. I kept with it though and season four quickly redeemed the series and it's been running strong ever since.

The promo I've linked above is also the best I've ever seen for obvious reasons. =P

I just finished watching the first series of Penny Dreadful.

It's easy on the eye, William Peter Blatty, Kim Newman and Alan Moore should at least be credited if not paid.

Like Game of Thrones it the production team feel it necessary for the cast to drop their drawers and bump into each other at regular intervals but on the whole it's worth watching.
