Sorry if I seem impatient, but I prefer this option.

In the end, it's your choice, of course.

It will probably take a few days to get those out there since I'm currently out of town and don't have as good a connection as I normally do.  It's up to you if you want to wait for that, or have the AVCHD come out right away with the MKV slightly later . . .

:( Well, that sucks. :(

Oh well, I guess I could wait another week.

I just wanted enough time to download the files and burn it to a disc to give to a friend for his birthday, is all. But, if it's going to be awhile, I guess he can get it some other time.

Either way, I'm really excited to see the final release.

Author

Well, I'm going to a friend's wedding today, so I don't know what state I'll be in tomorrow but I will release the AVCHD version in the coming days, probably on Monday and then the MKV as soon as I get the audio files.

Excellent! I'll keep an eye out for it.

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Harmy is a god on earth! Saving my childhood one film at a time! Thank you so much for all you have done!

Harmy the King!

Which subtitles will be included with the AVCHD?

“But I was going to Tosche Station to pickup some power converters!”

Author

And which audio tracks? The AVCHD will be my preferred format, since I can burn it to a DVD9 easily. I just hope the stereo and isolated score are included. The commentaries are super nice too ;)

What a person does with their own end should always be their choice.

What kind of sick comment is that?

This is a family site.  :)

 Goodnight Everybody!

...on a more serious note, I'm excited for when this comes out.

Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…

You can extract them from the MKV-file with MKVExtractGUI and recombine the audio tracks of the m2ts-file by using tsMuxerGUI if they aren't included (though it's very unlikely for the English GOUT stereo track).

Yeah, the isolated score will most likely not be included - I have one less commentary track than for the SW AVCHD but the movie is slightly longer, so it will all depend on how the bitrates all add up when muxed together.

Author

I don't see how an isolated score is possible in the first place Harmy, as the film uses versions that are vastly different from the ones available on music albums, i.e. The Ice Planet Hoth is very different in the movie to the album track, plus there are music cues that can only be heard within the movie that aren't available anywhere else, such as when we are introduced to the Hoth Base we hear horn section that is heard there and there.

I don't know, I didn't make the isolated score, all I know is ABC did make it, hairy_hen synced and encoded it and you guys will be pleased to hear, I will be putting it into both releases - I decided to encode the commentaries as mono 64kbps AC3s for the AVCHD, which I think is ok for a commentary track, which freed up a lot of space for not only the iso score track but also more subtitle options.

Those cues have all been released. Most of the music from the first three films has been released, albeit in varying quality. The Special Edition soundtracks are the most complete, but the sound quality on Empire and Jedi is awful, so there have been several projects to improve the sonics of those, of which ABC's is one of the most prominent.

“That’s impossible, even for a computer!”

“You don't do ‘Star Wars’ in Dobly.”

So, here's the NFO for the AVCHD version - I'm about to create the ISO image and start uploading :-)

This is a reconstruction of the 1980 theatrical version of The Empire Strikes Back. The original shots were painstakingly

restored using various sources (listed below) and the film received an extensive shot by shot colour correction.

The remastered version (v2.0) represents a significant improvement in picture quality over the earlier 1.0 version
due to the use of better encoding and higher quality sources and replacing many of the despecialized shots with
higher quality ones.

The AVCHD version contains the latest versions of the preservations of the original audio mixes, three different
commentary tracks and an isolated score.

Can you do another documentary/featurette for the making of ESB 2.0?

Congrats Harmy!! I'll wait for the full mkv, but certainly appreciate all the effort you've gone to to restore ESB, easily the best star wars film, to its full glory!

It's up on paradox now! If someone put it up on the spleen, I'd be grateful :-)

@Feallan: I have 8.0, which I believe is the latest version.
