In Northern Ireland when Star Wars came out I remember all kids in my year were into Star Wars, the same as Jaws etc,....even the hard kids used to collect the Topps cards.....skinheads etc,....Star Wars wasnt nerdy,......nothing too technical.....just shoot em up & explosions

I remember in the queue at the cinema for SW & Empire, all ages in line... adults & kids, elderly & couples.....I remember seeing my Minister & his 2 daughters

Nerds liked Star Trek & Doctor Who,.....you wouldn't admit to liking them or you'd get the piss taken out of you

ROTJ seamed different,.....well I was 15 by then,.....but I dont think it was as cool to like it

.......but now,....right now,...In my workplace, I wouldn't mention Star Wars,...I would get looked at strange, like c'mon....an adult liking a childs film?

The Prequels & the EU (well all the unecessary technical over explaining stuff) have turned Star Wars into Star Trek

....but I'm happy with the bits that Disney has tweaked since buying the franchise
