That obi-wan shot seems to be less Ewan-Mcgregor appearance based and more of a hybrid of him and Alex Guinness, probably to help bridge the two trilogies more.

Don't these guys realize that in the timeline where this series takes place there are no Jedi except Kenobi and Yoda? And nobody else with a ligthsabre? :-(

They realise that... but they also realise that kids like lightsabres which outweighs it.

I have no problem with Jedi in the Dark Times era. What I take issue with is that it's supposed to be Vader's job to hunt down and destroy the Jedi. Not these dark suited weirdos.

Exactly. I hate these stupid force-sensitive enforcers (Starkiller, this Inquisitor). Why the hell can't they just make a series or a video game about Vader hunting down the Jedi?

Technically Vader only "helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights."  So technically he wouldn't have to be the main person, but I'm pretty sure still Darth Vader is supposed to be the main one killing the Jedi at least if we follow how the current PT continuity works into the OT trilogy.  Becuase it could be that Vader wasn't always at the the second to the top of the Empire, which the line somewhat seems like it implies he wasn't always second in command, IMO.  BUT that would seem to not work, at least if we are following the Vader backstory given in the PT.

BUT, I most certainly agree that they should have Vader, not he the weird non-sith dude be the main person to hunt down the Jedi.

Frankly, I like the idea that many different characters -- not just Vader -- hunted down the Jedi Knights.

What I don't like is -- well -- a bunch of CG clones shooting Jedi in the back.

I wonder if the Inquisitors have any connection to these guys (TFN calls them the "Peculiar Hat Crew"):

Yeah, I'd prefer to see some of this:

In fact I'd preferred to see some of this by Ep3

^I like that painting and all, but I still don't know why Royal Guardsmen are there. Their job is to protect Palpatine, not serve on the frontlines.

I think the guards are just to make the painting look cool.

Agreed and lovin' that painting, reminds me of the style of the old skool Warhammer 40K paintings

The problem there is that making Vader the main adversary in SWR, they run the risk of making Vader look like a chump if he keeps losing to these guys. Original villains won't have the same sort of expectations that the fans would have for Vader.

The answer to that problem is to not have a Jedi in your main cast. But they're too afraid to not cater to the Force loving crowd to do that.

I still think the show will turn out great, I'm just disappointed they had to shoehorn Jedi into it.

It shouldn't be a problem, though. We know Vader hunted down and whipped the shit out of every Jedi during the purge that he came across. The rebels never win any real victories until ANH. The Rebels series should be all about Vader kicking the rebels ass for 20 years.

Like you I still think it will be good, but wish it had taken a slightly different direction.

Unfortunatly I don't think kiddies would be all that keen on a cartoon show where the heroes constantly lose to the bad guys. I think that kind of storyline would be better suited to a more adult oriented, live action series than SWR.

All signs point to the Ghost crew having victories, albeit minor ones in the grand scheme.

Well said. Plus, even adult fans don't really want that either, do we? Maybe if the Inquisitor fails enough times he'll serve to heighten Vader's effectiveness via contrast. Though I'd expect that more from a comic than serious character, it's not something I wouldn't mind. I'd love to see the character punished for his failures, too -- here's hoping.

I've always wanted this. But as my Grandmother used to say, shit in one hand, wish in the other, and see which one fills up first.

Star Wars Rebels: Extended Trailer

Thanks for posting this link.  As someone who loved the Clone Wars cartoon and thought Filoni and his team were fantastic (and should have been behind ep. 7) I was very disappointed by this.

It''s such a step back visually from the last show.  It looks like a very child friendly, colorful yet average Star Wars show.  Its really a CG version of the old Droids cartoon just with human characters.

Also the whole plotline of the show, this kid learning to be a jedi during ANH time, is just ludicrous at least for me.  I guess Yoda forgot about this kid when he talked about there being another?  Unless the kid doesn't make it through the show which wouldn't fit the kid friendly tone they are going for.  This show does not bode well for Disney owning this franchise.

This show is set 10 years before ANH.

I heard 3-5 years before ANH. I think they said that they plan the series to segue directly into the beginning of the original film.

And let's be honest. The whole bit with Yoda and Ben as the last of the Jedi was pretty much always a load of bunk. Even in some of the earliest EU, we saw Jedi who survived the purge. That old, homeless woman from Dark Empire for instance.

and as for Yoda seemingly not noticing Ezra? You're talking about the dude who chatted it up with the Dark Lord himself yet couldn't sense him. Sorry, but Yoda IS fallible. Plus Ezra may not even become a proper Jedi. Kanan wasn't even a Jedi. He was a Padawan at best by the time of the purge. It'll be a noob training a noob.
