I think one important thing to point out is that if people (in general) don't care about SE revisions, then they also wouldn't care about the lack of them. Disney must know this.

Actually it would be their strongest selling point.

The "excitement" of picking up the latest re-release to see what else has changed has worn off.

Now all they have left is to throw out the triumphant return of the theatrical editions brilliantly restored for the first time on blu-ray to drive up sales.

This brings in the large segment of people who stopped purchasing because of the SE nonsense.

That's why it's always funny to me when I hear some SE apologist make the argument that "only a small percentage of fans would buy it, most people are happy with the current release, etc."  We all know that a lot of people who purchased the 2011 BD will still purchase an OT release - especially if it's from a new 4k scan.  SW fans will always buy the latest, greatest video release as we have seen since the VHS days.

It just makes too much sense to do this next fall leading up to EP VII.  It's a no-brainer to us.  Now, do the Disney execs share this mentality?  I have no clue.  I've got to assume that they know a proper OT release would make money.  I'm still holding out hope.
