 This is not true. The O-negs of the films are still conformed to the 97 theatrical versions. All post 97 changes were done to the 2k digital master. If they did a new scan of the O-Neg it would be the 97 version. From there, if they wanted to restore the OOT theyd have to scan IP prints or the cut pieces of the O-Neg and reedit them back into the film. If they wanted to recreate the 2004 or 2011 version in 4K, they'd have to rerender all the post 97 effects at a higher resolution and reinsert them into the film.
