fixed.

They insist that the Sith can never be destroyed, yet they insist that the Jedi think that the Sith have been destroyed.

But Lucas writes the Jedi as braindead retards, so they must always be written as braindead retards, because Lucas is the fourth person in the Holy Quadrinity.

Ugh...

The only spiritual thing I want to see is Luke trying to grasp the force while training himself (and that won't be friggin' combat training!).

Anything else would just be too much of a repeat.

I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.

You must be so sad to see your thread misused like this.

And by the very Sam who inspired it too :(

 What are you implying?

I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.

That a fellow named Sam created some antics, both here and at the Jedi Council Forum, that because of him I signed up over there (to interact with him further), and there realized what a humorous place it is.  This thread was meant to laugh at those quirks.  But someone named darklordoftech, who really seems to have a lot in common with Sam, only well behaved, continues to bring up topics that are not what this thread is about.  There is a whole General Star Wars section of the forum to discuss the merits of the concept of Sith.  This thread was intended to poke fun at the weirdos.

I think this is a laugh:

Somebody said that when ROTS was first released, people left the theater wondering whether or not Plagueis is dead. Does that person realize that nobody knew about episode 7 until October 2012?

I don't know ... I seem to recall reading some discussions somewhere years ago about the possibility that Plagueis was still alive. Or maybe it was about if Bane was still alive. I can't really remember.

Bane more likely. There was a theory that Bane transferred his spirit into each Sith through Sidious.

Please don't put spoilers in this thread.  There is a spoilers thread already.  I am trying to avoid as much as I can.

Yeah... When most people left the theatre, they likely didn't remember who Plagueis was. He was mentioned in one fucking scene!

Anyway, I was recently banned from JCF myself. It seems to be permanent this time. I was accused of trolling and baiting. I don't think it's either to accurately deconstruct and expose the insecurities of many PT fans in light of the ST. They babble on about how worried they are that the new trilogy will undo and alter their perceptions of their beloved, "Saga." They're fearful there shan't be any references to the PT in the ST and that it'll be brusher aside by Disney's Star Wars.

Is it really trolling or baiting when an OT fan accurately states, "well, now ya know how we feel!"?

Watching the apologists flounder and humiliate themselves while trying to debate with me is always hilarious.

I would love it if you posted some URL's to those discussions, Heero Yuy.

I can link you the thread, but most of my posts there had been mod edited.

ETA: here ya go, what you can still see anyhow. http://boards.theforce.net/threads/pt-fans-feelings-on-st-news-so-far.50020544/page-7

ETA2: Oh, lucky me! Because one of my posts was misquoted as bring from someone else's, the text escaped a mod edit!

"The thing is, aside from some Bronies, I've never seen a segment of a fandom that is so insecure and oversensitive. They see pop culture mocking of the PT as a personal slight when really the consensus of our culture is that they're lesser films at best. I've never heard Bayformers or X-Men 3 fans get upset when their movies are trashed again and again. That's because they accept that they have an unpopular opinion and so have nothing to prove.

I think a lot of the recent animosity has to do with the ST. This shan't be a populat view, but I'm going to say it; Many PT fans feel tricked. PT/Saga fans truly bought into Lucas' nonsense about there being no story after ROTJ and the Saga being all about Anakin that was planned out all along. Well, that's been exposed as BS and so Lucas loyalists have had difficulty reconciling the "Tragedy of Darth Vader," with the new ST. Despite GL's involvement in the story, PT fans have a scapegoat in Disney, JJ, etc. to naysay and desperately find fault. Not all PT fans mind you, just certain types.

I sincerely believe they want the ST/Rebels to fail so they can turn about and yell, "Y'see? I told ya so? Miss Lucas yet?!" Just so they can feel better about themselves for being, "right," about Star Wars.

Tis quite embarrassingly pathetic, really."

ETA3:

"I've mentioned this in another thread, but it's very relevant here.

When the PT came out and OT fans expressed dismay over how their trilogy was being altered and retconned in ways they didn't care for, the gushers came out of the wood work with, "u must unlrn wat uve lrned. Lulz," and we were apparently expected to take it. Because #LucasOriginalVision or some such BS. Now that it's the ST coming out and changing their perception about what Star Wars is truly meant to be (spoilers: NOT the Tragedy of Darth Vader), all of a sudden many PT fans are all, "WAAAAAAAH! Why can't u leave us alone to view Lucas' SAGA as we want?! WAAAAAAAAH!" Welp, now you know how the OT fans have felt for years.

The only difference is the OT fans' worries are actually valid, for you can still watch your beloved PT the way you want it. I can't watch the OOT without buying inferior official copies or resorting to illegal means."

So the mods of TFN actually alter the posts of posters they don't agree with?

I'm already an infrequent poster at TFN -- after all, what fun is there in posting on a forum where almost everyone is a PT/SE/modern EU fantard who treats you will disdain if you happen to share an opinion that runs contrary to theirs? -- but this is making me consider abandoning the site 100% altogether.

^ To be fair, they're mainly supposed to alter posts that are flaming, trolling, etc. However, the mods at TFN are way, WAY too uptight to where they'll alter an entire thread for one minor infraction. One poster there was accused of baiting when her post was made 100% in jest.

The two situations in which I would want the ST/Rebels to fail are:

1. If Disney doesn't release the OOT.

2. If the ST/Rebels truly suck.

-"Without the EU, Star Wars would be just another sci-fi series that happens to be better than any other sci-fi series." That's like saying, "My children are just people who happen to be my children."

- At one point before the Legends announcement, a member of Stoey Group tweeted, "Some people just don't want to listen. Only the movies and TCW are canon" and TFN is calling that a "vague" statement. It was an absolute statement! What more could someone want to know?

That certainly is a nonsensical statement. I'm guessing s/he put only half of what s/he was thinking down in his/her post.

When someone gets married to something so completely, it's hard for them to part with it.
