Here's my random thought:
Star Wars is perfection because even the shitty parts make wish I lived there.
This is what happens after you become a zombie from drinking the Lucasfilm/Lucas Licensing Kool-Aid.
Sad for you that you seem to feel the need to insult a fellow fan simply because we have differing view points.
Well you sorta opened yourself to it with the schizophrenic, cognitively dissonant doublethink you displayed. "Star Wars" (by which you seem to mean not the movie, but everything with the trademark slapped on it) is "perfection" even though it has admitted "shitty parts"? Seems to smack of epicyclical rationalization and apologism for a whole lot of what we on this board all know to be unforgivable Sins against Cinema.
Oh, I don't care if he feels that he needs to insult me. He can do that all he wants. No sweat off my ass. I just find it sad and pathetic on his part. And I make no apologies for the fuck ups in Star Wars. There are plenty, and I wish they weren't there. However, I have excepted them and moved past them, and unlike a lot of fans I don't work myself into a rage over the shit that should never have been there, and then declare them unforgivable sins against cinema. That's a little melodramatic in my opinion.
But I understand that many fans feel that way and that's fine. They have the right. And maybe if I'd been there in 77 I'd feel the same way. But I personally like the original trilogy, and the SE, the PT, the EU, and even the all despised Blu-ray box set. And there's a lot of shit in there. And I still love all of it. That's why I said it's perfection. If I can still love something with so many flaws then it has transcended those flaws and reached some level of perfection in my eyes. And if other fans don't agree that's fine. But seeing as how we're all fans of the same thing I see no reason for insulting each other just because we don't all see things the same.
And for the record, the Star Wars Saga I want will never be, so I've embraced what is. A very unpopular choice with most fans.
