The YYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAHHHH!!! I HAVE GOT GOOD NEWS THREAD!

Author
Time

Since we have a thread where we complain I decided to start a thread where we can talk about our good news.  After all maybe things will not seem so bad if we talk about the good things that have happened in our lives.\

Well yesterday after almost two years off of my meds we finally found a psychiatrist who takes my insurance and I have an appointment with him at the end of next month.  Goodby head aches, farewell right hand locking up and not doing what it is told right away, see you latter words becoming a jumble in my head and making it impossible to write...I AM GETTING BACK ON MY MEDS!

I had pretty much given up hope but now for the first time in a long time I feel like there is hope for getting my life back on track.

Well it looks like Bring back reading Rainbow is going to get five million bucks.  That's good news.

With Seth MacFarlane adding another million on top of it, that's incredible. I hope MacFarlane is giving outside the Kickstarter, they could use the money to cover the $250,000 Kickstarter is going to charge.

Wow,they charge that much?

I hope you are right.  I only have $10 to my name right now but I gave my $5.  I really hope they get the money they need.  It was this show,my mom reading to me,and wishbone that cemented my love of books as a kid and made me take up writing as a hobby so this show is very special to me.

Oh and one funny story.  I used to look away whenever Burton looked at the camera when I was a kid, why?  Because as much as I loved the show I found his eyes creepy.  You see I saw him on TNG before RR and I wasn't used to seeing his eyes. Seeing his eyes just felt wrong somehow and I felt like I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to see and I was always put a little on edge when he looked at the camera.

I got a free one month trial of Audible and the "audio book" I got for free was the original radio version of The HitchHiker's guide to the Galaxy!  That is pretty exciting.

I somehow missed this thread, but agree with the community news. Best thing ever. Had a smile on my face ever since. We actually get our six seasons, and Harmon seems to be on form at the moment, so it should be good. All hail to our new 'Yahoo!' Gods!

I didn't even know they had a video service before reading this story so it paid off for them there.

I don't get NBC so i am working my way through the show on DvD right now, this is great news since I was so sad when I read it was canceled.

How can shows like Community get canceled but garbage like two and a half men keeps running for over a decade?

At least now between the internet and cable good shows stand a chance of making a decent number of episodes.

Yeah, Yahoo! buying it was a surprise, for everyone. Even the industry analysts said the same. This forbes article, http://www.forbes.com/sites/merrillbarr/2014/06/30/the-community-renewal-by-yahoo-is-a-glimpse-into-televisions-future/, however, says it shouldn't have been a surprise. Apparently, they've been building to this for a while, it's just that no-one noticed. I'm so jealous that you get to watch it all together, I've been watching from the beginning, so i never had that :(  How far have you got?

And yes, it's sad that so many great shows seem to get cancelled, but I'm surprised it lasted this long. NBC have never known what the show is, who it's core audiance is, or how to market it. In fact, NBC were ALWAYS the problem with this show getting a larger audience. I'm just glad Sony found another buyer.

JEDIT: Hitchikers radio play for free. Sweet!

I am in the middle of season three and loving it!  The Paintball episode may be my favorite so far.

Yeah NBC seemed to have that same problem with News Radio too.  They had a good show with a strong fan base but they kept changing the time slot and the marketing so that it was never able to build to anything.  ABC had the same problem with Better off Ted.  in a way the internet is a god sent to shows of this type because they can be marketed to the people who want to see them and don't have to be paired with other shows or find a time slot.  Hopefully in the future this means fewer good shows getting canceled.

Oh and yeah this is sweet.  I have already listened to the first five episodes of THG2G today.

But that's the things that you saw that made your life a little bit better thread. This is the good news thread. Unless i missed something?

On topic; GOOD NEWS (Insert image of Farnsworth here), I talked to one of my best friends today for the first time in about a year and a half, on the Skype. Lovely to see both her, the husband and the kids, and catch up with events in 'The Hometown!'
