I know you're busy with a lot of other projects but I was curious as to what kind of process you've made on this one in the past month and a half. Do you have any updates to show us?

I was waiting for the french laserdisc, to know if i could use its video to improve the final quality, and to use its audio track. The truth is, this is a 4:3 P&S version, so audio wise it's useless for the project; audio track is good, as almost all laserdisc, so I should capture it in the next days; as I'm waiting a new capture card, I will use it to give a try also on video - even if it will not be used.
The other things are ready, so I can tell (almost) for sure the project will be released in a week or two, depending on the time the brand old capture card will be here.
Last thing: I have not forget this project; at the contrary, I could anticipate I'm working not on another Disney project, but on more than one!!! Stay tuned, you all will be surprised about the new titles I'm working on...

It's been more than a month, how is the project going??
Mea culpa... I was so involved lately with Supernova and a lot of (too much) other project, that I almost forgot about it...
I hope to release Supernova very soon, then I'll be back to work to BATB, and hope to release it soon, too!

OMG! I just discovered this thread!
As I've said in another thread, BATB is ny favourite film of all time, and i was apalled by the DVD and BD presentations which altered the colors significantly thus changing completely the aesthetics of the film!

here's a collage of images that I had found, that preserves the original colors in some instances (look eg. at the be our guest scene with the light shadows which are absent in the bluray, and the picture on the left of this inside the bookstore.
Also, I'm personally a fan of grain and if you look at those photos they're full of life!
I hope you forgive me for asking, it's just that I'm so excited, but.. any update on this? Any date that it will be released?

The project resides in an external HDD not currently connected to my PC, so... out of sight, out of mind; add to this that I'm after to more projects than could I afford... plus, every time I want to finish an unfinished project, another new, exciting one surfaces suddenly...
Well, I'll be away from home until monday; please repost your request in this thread, and I'll try to do it ASAP - because, basically, it's almost ready...

So... how's it going??
First, sorry for the late reply; the video is ready, what I have to do is to put in sync all the audio and sub tracks (IIRC I have them all, but I must check better) and make the final BD-25; I also need to finish the covers, and the BD menu; I must work this week-end, so I think next week this project will finally see the light of the day... happy to know more than one person is still interested in this!

Andrea, I thought I already dealt with the subtitles, I sent you the SUP files, and they should all be in sync.
Can i ask a question:
The horrible changes of colors on the BLuray and DVD had caught my attention, and didn't examine at all the audio..
Is the Bluray audio significantly changed (apart from the expanded position of effects etc.) comparing to the original audio?
I mean are there any new effects recorded, missing music, etc., like in the terminator?
I believe the Bluray "corrects" a line of the Beast? is that all?

@titanic: there will be both the BD and Laserdisc audio tracks, so you can listen to both and choose which you like most!
I've finished to make the video intro right now; going to make the video menu, then I'll make the BD-25, burn it, watch it carefully and finally release it; hope to finish all this night - or, probably, tomorrow morning... stay tuned, the end of the tunnel is near! (^^,)

@titanic, The BD soundtrack corrects errors made in 2002 for the special edition. Also, since the original soundtrack was recorded digitally and originally mixed in Dolby Stereo, it doesn't have problems usually associated with remixes.
It's definitely not a bad mix like The Little Mermaid DEHT mix for the 2006 DVD (brrrr)
While I'm finishing it, I recalled that I miss only the german commentary subtitles... if anyone has it (the theatrical version, and NOT the extended edition) this is the last chance to add it!
