I thought putting tinfoil on windows was supposed to cut the heat down, but it doesn't seem to do jack shit -- I'm still miserably hot, just in darkness instead of sunlight.
God, how I hate living in the Okanagan Valley. First chance I get, I'm moving somewhere where the heat rarely climbs above 25°C.
I hate hot weather. When it is cold all i have to do is put on a coat but in the summer I just have to sweat and I hate sweating.
I feel sorry for you man.
Calgary is nice!

Well, it's nice and cool and rainy up here in the Edmonton area, and has been for some time. I wouldn't mind Okanagan winters, though.

The worst thing is that the weather is only going to get hotter. In July and August, the temperatures reach the mid-to-high 30s.

I had never heard of this solution before.
I don't know.... tinfoil + heat... isn't that how you cook potatoes??

I thought it was tinfoil that kept the aliens out of my brainwaves.
Wait...Are you telling me that doesn't work?!!!!!
Tinfoil on Windows worked prior to the release of 8.1, sadly they "fixed" it with that update.
Well there is one more reason for me to never upgrade my computer.

So... if there's nothing to bitch about, it doesn't interest you?
Oh wait, we already knew that ;)
Just b*tchin' about not be able to use the following sentences anymore in daily conversation...
"Now then"
"I'm the leader"
"Can you tell what it is yet?"

Does anyone realize that the Simpsons will never be cancelled? There will still be new episodes airing long after the heat death of the universe.
And why does the movie theater closest to my house continues to play middle of the road blockbusters I don't want to see?

I don't claim to understand the kooky science behind it all, but apparently tinfoil on windows is supposed to act as a reflector, bouncing the light and heat that'd otherwise pour right on in back. As I've said, though, I haven't noticed any real heat reduction; perhaps I didn't apply the tinfoil right, or it's just too hot out for it to work well.

Im my house it takes an hour and a half in a 350F oven to get a decently cooked baked potato; otherwise it's completely raw in the middle.

Zombie Simpsons is in the stages of becoming a complete non-entity, so it won't have to be cancelled; in a decade or so, it will become a shade, a phantasm -- something that exists, but only as an echo, easily ignored and even more easily forgotten.
The problem, however, is the danger of true Simpsons being conflated with Zombie Simpsons and allowed to fade away along with it. That has to be combated.
Freaking impossible-to-read captchas... insult added to injury as I am left to infer that I am no more perceptive than the robot they assume me to be.
^I feel your pain.
Why can't people wait until it's actually the fourth of July to set off fireworks? I've been hearing stuff go boom for weeks, and tonight is no exception.
I also saw potentially illegal brush burning going on in the area, and we're in the middle of a freaking drought. One ember and a little breeze is all it takes.
Where were you in '77?

Yeah what makes it worse is half the time the only reason I see these stupid things is because some website has glitched and is refusing to remember my password when I enter it.
Those things should be banned.

huh, never thought of that. But it sounds more likely that it'd work in a physics book rather than in real life, where many factors would prevent it from being a 100% efficient solution.
It annoys me that when I go on-line to search for Mary Jane art by Mark Bagley, pretty much all I get is stuff from his run on Ultimate Spider-Man and virtually nothing from his run on Amazing Spider-Man.
