yeah can you imagine. Anyone who quoted Shakespeare without pay five thousand bucks each time would have then burnt at the stake.

Who knew this was a thing?

Also it is completely overcast for the first time in weeks where I live so I will not be wearing sunglasses today.

I went to my local library today, and I saw a brand new, pristine copy of the Alien 3 novelization out on display.

To be honest, I didn't think most novelizations that old got reprinted, especially when the movies they're based on weren't all that well received to begin with.

A lot of classic MTV promos made it onto some music video compilation DVD's released last decade. I imagine they are long out of print now.

I actually got some artwork done for a video project of mine in the 90's by the fellow who created this MTV I.D.

I miss all of MTV's animation. Especially Liquid Television. (The only thing today that even comes close to that is Off The Air on Adult Swim.) It's sad that even Beavis and Butthead couldn't get enough viewers when they revived it a few years back. Makes me want to drop a house on the entire cast of Jersey Shore. ;)

Haven't perused old lots of Betamax tapes on Ebay in a while. They have gotten more expensive. Saw one that had the SWHS in the batch, (sadly over) but other auctions without such rare shows also got into hundred dollar territory. There seems to be more demand for old sporting events and news programs than ever, unless it's some archive with deep pockets going after these.

It's a total crapshoot if the tapes are actually playable, and still have what's written on the label of course.

Meanwhile I think I have at least three separate copies of TSWHS on DvD for some reason:)  I had no idea it was still selling on Ebay,I figured everyone who wanted a copy had downloaded it by now.

I was bidding on that lot, but I didn't have a chance to check on it before it ended.  Given what the seller told me when I asked about it, the SWHS tape was likely a second or third gen copy.

I also can't believe the amount some lots are selling for. Either they get bid through the roof or the sellers start the bid at some crazy amount. From my experience I've actually found better recordings in the cheaper lots I've bought than some of the more expensive ones.

Even flow
Thoughts arrive like butterflies
Oh, he don't know
So he chases them away

Someday yet he'll begin his life again
Whispering hands, carry him away
Him away, him away

I wish we could just get rid of congress so we could start fixing everything wrong with this armpit of a country.

Yeah, I presume the old holiday parade in this batch justified the high bids.

I would have liked to get my hands on the ABC broadcast of The Shining that was in there. Jack Nicholson saying "freak" and "freaking" in the tv dub is hilarious.

You know what has always disturbed me?  The fact that two of the members of Star Fox team would have eaten the other two.

I think Marvel should make a live-action adaptation of the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon. I'd laugh hard seeing the recycled footage and green-skinned villains presented in a physical environment.

Even as a kid, when those long side shots of Spidey swinging along came up, where the only buildings are far in the background, I'd wonder where the heck the webbing was attached to.

Wasn't it the later episodes that got heavy into the recycled footage? Even the style of the show changed a bit by then. The backgrounds got more acid trippy.

I still dig the jazzy musical scores.
