PM sent with link. I included several shots to potentially be used, whichever one seems best.

I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

Pittrek, do you got any source video to use on the wampa scene ???

I been making some tests with the 2004 dvd hoth intro, but it just dont look good.

 Check this video : http://r0w9cvem6e.1fichier.com/

around 10 seconds you see an animatic of how a pencil drawn black thing jumps out on the snow and then they cut to the droid blasting at it.

I was thinking about replacing the "pencil drawn black thing" with a wampa, maybe even just a small wampa head like from the shot where it attack Luke, or something.

In other words, in the current condition it's definitely not clear what the hell is going on in the scene, I'd like to make it visually understandable

Just a quick update:

It will take some time now for the releases, a lot of cutting to do.

Working now on:

The wampa shot.

Coruscant on episode III

Tantive IV on space.

After all the work is done, i will post on youtube and 1fichier.

Fantastic. My fan edits wouldn't be anything without the help of the fantastic people here at at FE.org.

Report :

  • The first part of Coruscant on the star destroyer is done. Fixed the movement of of planet to match the movement of the camera. Fixed vader's cape cut.

  • The Tantive IV scene is getting full of problems, but not to worry. For now i'm just cutting the scene frame-by-frame.

  • Already made a rough-cut of the Wampa shot.

  • Made a rough-cut animation of the Tantive IV on blender. Got the model on sci-fi meshes.

This is all, i intend to finish the Coruscant scene and the Wampa shot first, ad then find a solution to the Tantive IV issue.

Report:

I spend the whole day working on the Coruscant scene.

  • Fixed the officer's head cut.
  • Fixed some problems with the cuts in whole scene.
  • Cutted the emperor's cape.

There still a lot of things to be done in this scene, all the cutting is easy, what is really hard is to match the slight camera movement with the coruscant cut.

Tomorrow i wont be able to work a lot on the scenes (sorry), beacouse its the exam week on my school and i got to study. But relax my priority is to finish these scenes.

Don't worry about the time factor. I'm complimented that you'd dedicate your time to this for me. Good luck with exams, and I'll wait for the FX shots. I've been playing around with ANH in the meantime.

Well, i'm just here to tell you guys that i'll be working on the scenes only next week. I hate to keep you guys waiting, but i got study (yeah, i know... this sucks).

I really love doing special FX, and i will finish all the scenes (relax on that).

I'm just apologising myself for not releasing the scenes sooner.

No worries! I'm gonna work on a few other things in the meantime, so you aren't holding me up.

  • The Coruscant scene is almost finished. I just need to do some more cutting and its done.
  • The wampa shot is not a hard shot, but i didn't find a good wampa picture to cut, i'm still looking up, if someone finds one, please share.
  • The tantive 4 scene didn't make a lot progress.

Coruscant scene:

There are some little "bugs" here and there, but the main objective is done.

Read below...

KEEP IN MIND:

This may or not be the last version, all depends from your approval or not, if you want me to change anything, it will take more time.

Ps: The other shot is the blender test scene for Tantive IV, dont give much attention to that.

I'll check it out as soon as I get home tonight!

Okay, here are my thoughts. The planet looks very clear, perhaps too clear. I know space doesn't have any atmospheric depth, but blurring it slightly might help it blend in. Especially the edges; I think JasonN blurred the edges when he did this for his edit. As it is now, the planet (especially the border) is very distinct and doesn't seem to be part of the original image. The scene is bright overall, at least how you exported it, so that might be what makes it look so noticeable. I can't tell whether the brightness should be changed for the clip or the new element, but something doesn't quite fit brightness-wise between the two.

This is a minor point, so please ignore it unless it's a very easy change: The planet seems very big. It could stand to be a little smaller, which might help it blend into the rest of the picture anyway. If you have the motion tracked and all that, I wonder if it'd be an easy thing to change, but like I said it doesn't really matter much.

I am totally unfamiliar with rotoscoping and image manipulation, so I could be talking out of my ass. If it is possible, could you export it (or screencaps) with its original brightness? Maybe it's my Mac struggling to play a wmv file, but it looks too bright and that might be skewing my judgement.

I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

So... here we go...

  • Make the planet fit the original shot with blurred edges is a fantastic idea. Also, i'll try to color correct the planet if it is the case.
  • Make the planet smaller.... its impossible... because i had to make the planet fit with the death star borders, to "erase" the death star. And also, the scale factor has to be in the timeline, because of the zoom in the original shot.......i dont know if you are understanding this.... but anyway, sorry but is impossible.

Ps: Well not quite impossible, but it would take a long time.

PsPs: Like a really a long time, i would have to remake all my work.
