Star Wars: Democracy Edition (* unfinished project *)

This is an idea I’m throwing around, and I may undertake it after I’m finished with my current 3 in 1 prequel edit. The idea is to poll OT members on every single change to Star Wars, from the LDs to the Blu-Rays, and then compile an edit which includes every change that the majority of people are for and omits every change the majority of people are against. Basically a “democratically” semi-specialized edition. I’m not announcing this edit right now, there are still a lot of things to be worked out logistically, but what do people think of the idea? The sources would be:

2011 edition: Blu-Ray

2004 edition: Schorman’s HDTV preservation

1997 edition: Harmy’s Respecialized Edition (upscaled to 1080p)

1977 edition: Harmy’s Despecialized 2.5 (upscaled to 1080p)

As well as a variety of audio mixes

Obviously I would seek out permission from Harmy before undertaking this.

Thoughts?

Sounds awesome to me. You know what they say..."the day we stop believing in democracy is the day we lose it." ;)

Sounds pretty interesting. (If every single possible variation is included, I bet there would be almost no 2 versions exactly alike.)

Sounds like fun, though polling in this way could introduce incongruities unless some changes are clustered into packages.

Yeah, I would probably bundle some changes where it makes sense, I cant think of a good ANH example right but for example the Sarlaac beak in ROTJ, it would just be a yes or no to the beak, not to each individual shot featuring the beak.

Hmm, would have to think about that. Would probably go through it shot by shot and bundle anything that would create continuity errors with one another.
