No, there is nothing more than that.

It's still a really good job you've done. Thank you

Don't know why it happened, and why I have not spotted before release... it's a computer+human error, and I'm really sorry!

This could not be considered minor, and should be fixed ASAP; as I have to re-encode it, is there anything else that should be adjusted? Grain, brightness, contrast etc.?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not at home right now but I seem to recall feeling like the LD audio is a bit out of sync in the second half of the film. The first half or so is fine, then it seems like it's by about 200-250 ms, which is just enough to be noticeable and annoying. Has anybody else experienced this? I swear it's there on my end. If I were at home, I'd find the approximate point where the drift starts and report back here.

That said, thanks! I do appreciate the hard work and can always do a manual sync on my own if necessary.

As I'm really bothered when the audio track is out of sync for more than about 20ms, I would surely be aware of these kind of problem... 200ms are 5 frames (and 250ms are 6 frames), and it's impossible to anyone NOT to notice this!

But to check it out, I played the .m2ts file, listening carefully to the english LD, AC3 and DTS tracks, and none of them were out of sync... to be 100% sure, I loaded the LD and AC3 tracks in Audacity, played them together, and they were not out of sync, so... sorry, but this problem should be in your system!

IMPORTANT UPDATE

A fixed version is released in the usual place; the small encoding glitch is gone, and now it is encoded to be 100% BD compliant.

will you also upload it to usenet/mega/uploaded.net/solidfiles?

Hello. Thanks for the fixed encode! Following up on what appears to be a deleted post, the original version had audio that, for me, went out of sync, presumably due to the glitch. (I never did confirm the exact point where sync was lost.) The new version appears to stay in sync the entire time. :) I'm a happy camper.

Thanks again!

Watched this last night and it is another spoRv triumph ! Truly enjoyed the experience and professionalism of the presentation.

Thank you for sharing.

I will help seeding through the end of the week then I will give my system a little break. Hope that is ok and helps those that want it get it.

Thanks for doing this, I've never seen the film before and was waiting to get it on LD to avoid a remix and mis-transfer of elements, but you've done the work to get this film back to what is arguably as close as we can to a correct print. The new BD looks like a fresh scan that has been over-processed into a look that is not accurate to the source.

Thanks for your efforts! I too have yet to see this movie. So far i've just checked out a minute or so and it looked great! And sounded great as well! Very happy for the LD-audio but I must say that the 5.1 mix didn't sound half bad either! :)

This is coming in a new release from Scream Factory!

THANK YOU so much for doing this!! I had never seen this movie in its entirety until now because when I was younger I thought it looked rather boring, and cheesy. Now it's pretty much my favorite John Carpenter (and possibly Kurt Russell) movie. I've already watched it 4 times.

It's amazing how spectacular blu-ray can look when it isn't pummeled to death with different color timing, DNR, incorrect aspect ratios, et al.

Oh, and the reason this isn't my favorite is cuz watching this got me hyped enough to check out another Carpenter/Russell classic I'd only seen bits and pieces of...BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. I was HOWLING for the entire run-time. Definitely the most fun Carpenter film for me.

And like Rambo, Tyler Durden, Travis Bickle, and a few others, Snake Plissken is now one of my favorite fictional characters (What can I say? I've always identified with the loners).

As I already own a truly flawed version of the movie on BluRay, I am not sure your point.

However, if you wish to throw around such blaten terms, I am not sure of your place on a board such as this.
