Except puppets dont look fake because they are actual tangible objects. The Actors can interect better with it cause its actually there so their not guessing as to where it is. Sure they gave yoda more facial expressions in episode II (actually in the OT he had none) but he despite that as a puppet he still displayed emotion exceptionally well.
Digital is not necessarily the best. As i stated in the Han/R2 thread Lucas has an apparent hard on for anything and everything digital and its part of the reason so many people hate/were dissappointed with the prequals. He's trying to be ground breaking and do all this new and inventive stuff with cgi just like he did with the special effects in the OT, and while he's focusing on all the CGI crap he's not paying attention to the story as a whole.
I know people have said this to you before but its the story that makes the movie, not the special effects.

Also the more aliens the better.
this isnt necessarily true, did you ever hear of overcrowding a scene? Too much of something, even if its a good thing (not saying all the digital aliens are) is bad.
