Glad you guys are approaching completion. =) This has been a long time coming and I'm just filled with pride to be a part of the community that made it possible.

Just for public notice. Not that we are completely ready, but at some point this issue needs to be addressed. As you can see we have made some substantial progress.
Once we are done with the first version that is viewable by our standards, we would like some feedback before the final release.
I'm very pleased to hear you're nearing competition, especially since Lucasfilm couldn't even be bothered to do a fresh scan for the 2011 bluray despite all the shortcomings of the DVD transfer.
I'm pretty sure (though this is just my opinion) that Lucasfilm will now do a new transfer of the films for Bluray in time for Episode 7 (so 2015), and with Lucas out of the picture I believe that would at the very least include the Theatrical version of Empire Strikes Back since that's what the director wishes. Beating Disney/20th Century Fox on the release of SW will encourage them to do a much better job of the transfer than the obsolete 2004 one even if it is just the SE, which it probably will be. That's if they aren't already motivated by the You Too's CC edition and the other versions.
Well done and good luck with your release team -1, the previews you've posted look great!

I've very excited about being pre-preventative measured.
I have a 102 inch projection setup...I'd love a preview disc to give you the big screen point of view:) Your work is tremendously appreciated.
I have an Oppo BDP-83 & Epson EH-TW3200 and 110" screen (no surround sound system though, alad. Just Stereo - I'm old school!). Would also be willing to view any pre-releases & give my input into how it looks, any glitches that might need addressing & so forth.
These new clips are looking great! Excited that this project is approaching a pre-release! Great work team_negative1!

Wow, it actually looks like a movie again! This is so exciting. I guess I need to start shopping for a bluray burner. AVCHD is cool and all, but I want to be able to watch these in the highest possible quality. Thanks for all the hard work!
Glad to see people are excited about it. It's been awhile. But remember, we still have quite a ways to go. But we are making good progress.
No estimate yet, but we're hoping this year if we can get it done.
Otherwise, you'll just have to wait patiently and keep up with the updates.
As Adywan says, it will be released when it's done, and its not done quite yet.
Please keep monitoring this thread for updates.

We are still soliciting comments on how we will approach distribution when the time comes.
Thanks for all the compliments, and enthusiasm.

Has any decision been made as to whether this project will be GOUT-synced or not? Wondering about support for subtitles and alternate audio...
FWIW, I've got 1080p BD-SUP subtitles just itching to be included (and an updated version in the works), but lack of GOUT sync could be a dealbreaker, depending on how far off it gets (subtitles are probably more forgiving than audio, which has issues if there's more than one frame of difference).

Sorry. But we haven't quite gotten to that point yet.
Don't worry, we'll work with you on this as we get there.
I know there will be differences in a few frame counts, but I don't think it will be a major factor (hopefully) in the end.
Team Negative1
Well, someone will have to normalize those differences before it's compatible with every other audio track, but both GOUT-synced and original form should be available ultimately.
I am so excited to see this project come to fruition. It has been a long haul and the rewards will be equally as great ! Thank you for all of your hard work.
Hey guys. Newbie here to the boards but have been praying for an hd og theatrical cut of the trilogy for years, especially being a father now I'd like my son to see it the way i saw it. Just want to thank everyone involved for their work and can't wait for this to be made available.
Og?
lol...original gangsta, but I just use it for original. Sorry.
Would it be possible to have any screenshots posted of the scene where Obi-wan disables the tractor beam? I'm really curious to see how the compositing looks in the initial wide view as Obi-wan starts making his way around the tractor beam catwalk.

Could you post the two frames with the burn marks on the Tantive IV?

Actually, that previous link is correct. However, some of the links are broken.
Go here for a full listing of them:

We also will be posting some other requested shots.
Stay tuned for those.

Wow, I can't believe this is actually happening even after all this time. I still remember that first clip showing the Frankenstein projector rig with the little point and shoot camera and thinking to myself, this is one of the most promising things I've ever seen. Though I miss the blog we can still get techy enough here.
All these shots to me immediately suggest the look and feel of the JSC which has long been a favorite of mine but with an added inherent depth that is hard to describe. It's an incredible thing to be able to clearly see the different generations of effects as they were originally processed without having to look through layers upon layers of video and post processing.

I'm hoping, as I mentioned before, that -1's release encourages Fox/Disney to do a better job on the next bluray release of the OT.

We doubt that. Also, there will probably be more changes to the OT, knowing Disney.
