If anyone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm a n00b to this forum and the MySpleen website. I'm already waiting on a MySpleen invite from someone over there, so I don't need that, but I do need someone to explain to me how to get a hold of dark_jedi's GOUT project. I know there are a couple versions, so I would just like to know how to get the most recent, best GOUT upscale MKV files. Could someone link me to the MySpleen thread with those torrents or is that not how it works? I'm not a n00b to torrents, so I'm good in that department. Any help would be greatly appreciated though. I hope this is the right place to ask this! :D

If you're not a member of myspleen yet sending you a link to a thread there won't do you any good.  You won't be able to see it.

Alright, here we go. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me show you what Team Blu is all about.

They are about quality in workmanship from the printing of the artwork, the multilevel menus, and the mystical head scratching way that they are able to up convert almost any Standard def video to HD video that even holds its own on a 65" screen. You guys are at the pinnacle of fan restoration. Team Blu is the best.

I've never met any of the members of Team Blu in person, but I feel I know them. Especially Dark Jedi. Hell of a nice guy. DJ is the type of guy that is dependable as the day is long. Loyal to fault and always tells it like it is. You will never get any bullshit from DJ. PERFECT. This world we all live in would be a much better place with a lot more Dark Jedi's in it.

I just received a fucking HUGE bluray package from Team Blu that made me smile from ear to ear. And for a lack of a college education on my part, I have to use the only word that I know that comes close to describing what I saw when I inspected the shipment of bluray's from Team Blu,...AMAZING.

Check out these pics.

And now the for the best non HD sourced bluray I have ever seen. I have no idea how this is even possible. The on screen pics really don't

do this bluray any justice at all. Check this out. Look at the attention to detail. The extras blew me away. Thank you Team Blu for your outstanding

efforts and your generous gifts of time it must of taken to make this happen. THANK YOU so very much.

The "Always Bluray"...

Too dam good Team Blu. Thank you for your caring spirit and professionalism. There is simply no one better. Suck on this all you pretenders!

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Since you seem to have nothing better to do than to instantly comment on every post here, you might want to refresh and check out my post again.
 I changed it a little.

Was 'Always' in need of preservation?  Is there a thread for that project here? I cannot find details.

Maybe Always got a 1997 Special Edition?

(I have no idea why he chose to post those specific shots instead of Star Wars ones)

I promised myself I'd sit down and watch these, as soon as I could do so *properly*, but it's been a long couple of weeks and so I finally decided to just watch "Star Wars" whether I had the time or not.

Gorgeous. Clear and breathtaking.

But especially fascinating is the gallery showing the color improvements and the corrections they made to the image. Almost every time I could remember seeing a particular glitch, tape mark, or other imperfection before and had just assumed that it was *supposed* to be that way.

To have the film cleaned up this way is amazing.

So I can only offer my thanks. Certainly wish I could do more.

...now I only need to make time for the SE.

“Before the Dark Times. Before the Prequels.”

Thank you V for the great post and for all the materials you have sent and still keep sending, we really appreciate all the support you give and continue to give us, so thank you very much for that.

*edit, I guess I should have said I know why, he told me in an email.

Then I guess he didn't need to post that part here, did he?

Don't get me wrong, I love "v."  That guy always makes me laugh.

Are you thread Police? he can post in our thread on any of our projects if he wants to, ALL those he posted about are our projects, and the SW BD's are pictured, there is no Always thread because that was a gift from us to him, so can't you just go back to the Off Topic section and just leave this alone already I mean Holy Shit man?

And have a thread exist that he doesn't constantly pollute? I can't see that happening.

I didn't "need" post anything. I wanted to. But I guess I should get Frink's permission next time.

Got these in the mail the other day (thanks!) and can't wait to watch; having a teething baby makes it tough to find time.

Yes, there is an occasional bit of aliasing, but when compared to the 2006 GOUT DVDs, I'd say it's 90% eliminated.  I'd love to know what technical process was used to reduce/eliminate the aliasing?  I came here in 2006 in attempts to correct the aliasing myself, and upscale the GOUT DVDs to anamorphic.  I succeeded in the anamorphic part, but never got anywhere with the aliasing.

I tried many methods until I found an avisynth plugin called QTGMC which on its very slowest setting did an amazing job on antialiasing. Especially since it didn't destroy any detail while doing it.

SamS said:

Also, how did you guys get so much damn detail out of the original source?  So impressive.

It's a combination of a careful upscaling and using Msharpen to dig out detail from within the grain.

SamS said:

I have downloaded but not watched the 97SE, yet.  What was the source for this one?

The so called TB version. We looked at all available sources and this one had the most preserved detail.

Yoo Too, would you be able to tell me what setting you used on msharpen, and which resizing filters you used? I have some other videos I want to upscale, and I've already taken care of noise and aliasing, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to scale to HD.

Thanks

If you've already taken care of aliasing, I'd say a simple Spline64Resize does the job. As for Msharpen, there are two options: Msharpen(1) will dig out detail from within grain, and Msharpen(2) will sharpen lines and contours. Just make sure to add blur afterwards to not make it look oversharpened, like Blur(0.2) for SD or 0.4 for HD or something like that.

DJ and You_Too,

Are ESB and ROTJ (GOUT and 97 SE) finished? I thought they were a ways off, but wasn't sure after seeing vbangle's pictures. I finally got around to watching Star Wars, it's hard to believe this was sourced from that 2006 bonus disc! Thanks again Team Blu.

My apologies, I didn't go into detail talking about the Team Blu GOUT V2....

Its only Star Wars, both GOUT and 97 SE, that have been released so far.

And yes, how did they manage the detail? Crazy right?

Hi, Thanks for sharing the pics, vbangle. I really have to commend Team Blue on their fantastic packaging, menus and extras. If I didn't know better, I could believe these were official releases. Nicely done. :)
