P.S. I have yet to see this change, ive only seen the '04 ANH. But I dont like it on principle. If for no other reason, because it defames Sebastian Shaw.

Shaw there or Hayden both versions provide a message that you can be an evil nutcase and do the most dispicable things but if you redeme yourself in the last few minutes you can spend iternaty in peice. Putting Hayden there doesn't do anything for or against this very wrong message.
Wow, Jimbo did you read anything i wrote? Let me paraphrase for you.
Lucas is contradicting himself and the original movies by trying to explain his changes away as his original intention or as to keep continuity. First off if he wanted to keep continuity he should have written the prequals to fit in better with what already existed. second if his original intention was to have a younger Anakin ghost then why didnt he higher a younger actor at the time...oh im sorry, i forgot, the technology to have younger actors didnt exist at that time...im sorry, ill concede on that point
Now let me get some clarification on your point. Anakin was redeemed at the end of ROTJ even when played by the Mr. Shaw. You said that most of his organs and limbs were mechanical...so wouldnt it be able to live in peice if his current body is de-mutilated, hence him having all his hair and limbs (and i dont think ghosts even need organs anyway). Also if im reading this correctly, you disagree with this message. If thats the case I just want you to realize your supporting Lucas on something that you dont believe in. I guess a part of blindly worshiping Lucas is to also learn to contradict yourself at every turn just like he does.

Yeah that's Jimbo for ya. I'm beginning to wonder if the little fella even CAN read, because he certainly never seems to have read anything he's responding to.

Amen. Lucas had the chance to make the PT films fit the existing OT films but he's too lazy to bother with anything such as series continuity and narrative logic.
So he messed up the OT to fit the PT and that's why this board exists.

LMAO
I dunno what to say, but this is great reasoning man. I laughed so hard when I read this (in the computer lab no less). This is just another tid-bit to add to the "lack of continuity/nonesense" that comes from Lucas.

Real mature.
So the definition of mature now includes not chucking DVDs you hate across the room?

it was for Lucas to do what he did.
He can't reach into my mind and change my memory of what I saw on the big screen when ROTJ came out.
Any head substitutions he choses to make will be just as jarring to me (and countless others my generation) as this example.
Lucas started to take himself far too seriously and this is what happens. Just because you can put images on celluloid doesn't
mean you can grow your own religion in your spare time. Especially if you keep going back to re-write your scriptures.
