It was a heady year alright.  Great times.

This is the theater where I saw it weekly that year, Meyerland in Houston.  This is from an old article about it, but no pic of the marquee.  I walked in and out of that very spot more times than I can count.

Wonder where that car is today.

And with people buying advance tickets on the interwebs these days, will we ever stand in huge lines like that ever again?

What I wouldn't give to travel back thirty-seven years to watch Star Wars on the big screen.

Large lines are pretty much a weekly occurrence nowadays. Every Thursday college kids and geeks crowd theaters to catch the midnight release of whatever the blockbuster of the week is.

Every once in a while there'll be a really big one like a Hunger Games and the line will spiral around the building. Episode VII is going to be HUGE.

As it's opening in December, odds are it's going to be a little bit nippy outside. ;)

Here's hoping it ends at "huge" and doesn't continue into "disappointment" or "disaster".

Speaking as someone who lives in Phoenix, that's not going to stop my local movie goers. Heck, winter is when we're the most active in general.

I'm laying odds someone camps out in line dressed in Hoth gear, and sleeps in a hollowed out Taun Taun.

I know we're not that far from the PT, but I still get excited to think that Star Wars is going to be in theaters again. This time I'm hitting all the premiers.

I really can't believe Star Wars is 37 years old. I may have to bust out Harmy's edits later.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.
