I wouldn't quote a load of films whose stated purpose was to reboot/change a franchise, against something like TPM which was supposed to honour what came before. And for what it's worth all three of those films put a big focus on quality direction, great acting, charismatic leads, emotion and drama, they just happened to have CGI too. The exact opposit of the PT.

Everybody hated TPM so it had no influence on what came after it, unless you count it as an inverse blueprint for how to make EpVII. Also movie studios like making money, no sane studio would consider the lukewarm box office of the PT, as an example to follow.
