The Giver looks f*cking awful.

I don't think this is the first time I've mentioned this, but after seeing it again, I really am quite angry.

Admittedly, I don't know if this is taking anything from the sequels or not, but...

The book is a small, quiet, intimate story about two people connecting and a boy learning about the atrocity that is his culture.

The movie looks like another damned insurrection movie (like we haven't had enough of those already) with a scale far too large and unjustified.

I mean, come on with some of this stuff.

Meryll Streep as a high-up official talking in condescending speech to one of the 'perpetrators'? (WHO WERE NEVER FOUND OUT IN THE BOOK!!!!)

Joanna in some sort of containment?

Jonas and Gabe escaping in a DESERT?!? And being abducted by a bland hovercraft?

God I hate hollywood sometimes...
