I dunno if I can agree with that totally. I feel like lightsabers are special weapons, and that to have or wield one should be cause for attention. They're not just a simple weapon, they're unique and tied to their Jedi wielders. They're a status symbol.

In some cases, I'm cool with it. I liked Grevous' trophy sabers, and I would have loved to see that expanded to other characters, like Boba Fett (or someone new) in a future film. And I don't mind seeing someone non-Jedi wield a saber, as long as it's not everyone, because it just means that character was badass enough to take one off a Jedi.

I also certainly don't mind seeing Jedi use a blaster. Obi-Wan killing Grevous with a blaster was a great moment to me, and I'm excited to see Kanan use one in Rebels (I'd be glad if that was his main weapon, too), not to mention the indomitable Kyle Katarn. I don't think Jedi should be above using them, but I don't think they should be their main weapons. Now, with Luke's generation of Jedi, I think the blaster/saber combo a la ESB is totally okay.
