No film is so bad someone should die for making it.
Pasolini made the vilest and most unnecessary film I've ever seen and he was assassinated.
However this was after he redeemed himself by making the beautiful The Gospel According to St Matthew (1964).
I've tried to scrub the toxicity of Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (1975) from my mind but once in a while a clip is shown and it just brings it all back.
It is truly a horrible piece of work but not worth running a man over repeatedly until he is dead.
The Lord of the Rings films are really good adaptations (the first one is pretty close to the book), The Hobbit films are pretty good too (much better than the reviews made out).
