Are there any custom disc labels out there? Specifically for the 1997 Editions, I'm looking to put something specific to them on the actual discs to complete that authentic feel.

Hopefully when you say, "Labels", you don't mean real sticky back labels...

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

No, I was intending to have the discs shipped to a commercial labeler. Sticky disc labels totally suck.

I need to find cool labels first though.

I received my package on Monday, which was a very nice surprise after a super busy day at work.  Once again I’m impressed with the fruits of Teams Blu's labor.  Right off the bat, I have to admit that I had a smile from ear to ear when I was checking out the theatrical SW disc and saw the animated image and musical selection on start-up.  I can't wait to share these with my parents who made me into the proud Star Wars nut that I am:)

I'm still going thru the discs but both discs are responsive and I’ve enjoyed the extras included on both discs.  I’ll add that going thru the comparison photo gallery of before and after was a treat and is a revelation in regards to the hard work which went into these discs.   As usual, I'll let you know if I find anything noteworthy.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you again to “the Producer" and the rest of team as you have done a great service for all the SW fans the world over.  I just want to say in closing that I remain a huge fan of Team Blu and will continue to support them any way I can.  Never forget that you guys remain the gold standard when it comes to these fan projects and I personally can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

*please let me know when you have them*

*removed tracking #'s, I didn't think this would be a problem*

Package has been received. I only got to look at a few before/after screen shots, but so far it looks great! I can't wait to sit down this weekend and actually watch it all the way through. Thanks again DJ, You_Too, and the rest of Team Blu!

Hi

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate team Blu on their fine work. I've stumbled upon this forum while looking for the best version of GOUT. Could I please still donate to this project to receive the aforementioned package? Because I'm scared I'll dissapoint people by not seeding enough (sadly, I'm new to private torrents too so I don't really understand the process ). Thanks in advance!

Thanks to the team for all your hard work on SW77! This looks amazing considering the source and the menus are very professional looking.

If I'm not mistaken, donations are over.  If you learn the torrenting side of things you can become better at it.  We learn by doing.

It may also be possible if you ask politely that someone might consider doing a blanks and postage arrangement for you.

How trustworthy is that site? I know Disney loves money just as any other film company so they obviously do know that they would make a ton of money if releasing the true originals, but on the other hand I really doubt it.

I mean, if they did want to release them, what would the source be? The old faded interpositives used for the GOUT? The altered negatives? (Which would probably need another restoration process anyway) The Laserdisc masters - JSC or 93 or whatever - are out of the question since they're probably on Betacam tapes (DVD resolution) or something.

The JSC master tapes are out of the question because a member of OT.com currently has them.

I hope Disney uses a "pure" (i.e., un-fucked-with) source such as an IP or release print, but this is likely a pipe dream.

Our only hope at this point is poita.

Yeah I'm looking forward to see poita's stuff.

Anyway, the things regarding removed should probably be removed since he's asked us to keep it secret anyway.

Here’s a kind of convoluted rumor for you to chew on as we continue to wait for no news about Star Wars: Episode VII. According to an interesting e-mail we’ve intercepted, and which purports to come from within Disney’s marketing department,  the studio are planning to re-release A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi on DVD/Blu-Ray/On Demand in their original form, without all the things George Lucas changed for the “Special Edition” releases back in 2004.

At least they specified .......

My gut reaction is that this purpoerted e-mail isn't real. Why? Because Fox still has distribution rights to the OT. Disney would not be releasing this, unless they've made some secret rights deal with Fox that none of us are aware of.

Read this Ars Technica article. (Specifically, this is page 2. Page 1 is about the state of the OT elements, but it just draws from a previous AT article which was based on zombie's information.)

We are getting off topic, but even with Fox holding the rights, a release of the whole Trilogy requires a deal between them AND Disney.  It's in both of their interests to play nice.

Considering there are upcoming sequels, I can't imagine either company would pass up the cross promotional bucks involved.

Sorry about the thread derailing.

Well, first of all, it is a rumor site.

Having said that, they've been remarkably accurate, for a rumor site, in the past. But I think it depends on the writer of any given article. Rich Johnston has had some ridiculous foresight in the Doctor Who world. I think he correctly identified 2 of the last 3 "Doctor" actors before anyone else, and was the first to leak a major announcement about episodes from the 1960's being found, last summer.

So, in that way, they've sort of earned a position to me as the only gossip site for which I'll pause for a moment and really consider what they're saying. But, I'm sure they'll be the first to admit that rumors are just rumors. And none of the other writers, including this one, on there have been quite so convincing.

They didn't even show said e-mail. This can't possibly be legit. They probably read that article on Arstechnica and went for clicks.

Shall we ask Disney if it's true?

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

I have been told it is referred to as an "organic drift" in conversation.

With that in mind, could we please get back on topic folks?

That may be but this should have never been posted here to start with, this kind of talk can go on for pages and pages and I myself do not want to read all this speculation and rumor crap.

I see new posts and I think it is someone making comments on our releases to only read this, I have read enough of this at blu-ray.com

If it weren't just a rumor it would be sort-of on-topic...a proper release of the OOT would replace the need for your OT, right?

Then why is it posted only in our thread? are we the only ones doing this? and for now it is only rumor, so move this conversation elsewhere please.

Team, I look forward to the last 2 installments of both versions.  It's always nice to see what can be done with what is available.
