Help: Anyone done an Up-scaling the Prequel DVD deleted scenes?

So a few of the prequel deleted scenes that were present on the DVD releases have been invaluable to fan editors trying to improve Lucas’s movies. However, since the release of the Blu-Rays and the advent of HD edits, these scenes stick out like a sore thumb next to the Blu-Ray footage. I’m consistently amazed by the work people have done up-scaling the GOUT and was wondering if anyone has tried applying similar methods to the Prequel deleted scenes. Unfortunately, this is something that is beyond my capabilities but I would really appreciate anyone else taking a stab at it.

I've always wondered if getting a top of the line upscaling-DVD player and doing a lossless capture of the 1080p output could be a decent way of doing this? Perhaps Oppo, or the Toshiba XA2 HD-DVD player.

This'd be a good project, and I think emanswfan is still planning on giving it a try.

For my own project, I merely upscaled using Apple's Compressor app. Though I also added a uniform layer of film grain to my project, which helps them blend together. I also cross-faded in a slight blur to the HD footage as a deleted scene approached and after it was over. The effect is that the HD footage starts to blur slightly for ten or so seconds as it is about to go into a deleted scene. (The deleted scene itself is not blurred.) Then after it's over, it starts slightly blurred and gradually comes off of it.

I don't know; it's better than nothing. And you're right, it's absolutely worth keeping some of those scenes for story purposes.

I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

Some of the deleted scenes were finished with cheap outsourced cgi not ILM.

Not all, some of the scenes on Sith were left unfinished.

None of the blu ray scenes were ever finished. Including the original trilogy.

Except for Luke's lightsaber in Return of the Jedi being built. The only scene i know of that was actually in along with finished sound effects dialog and music. Then removed. And not in the premiere but finished.
